Zoya – Nail Polish in Elodie

It’s been raining non-stop today so I decided to paint my nails in this bright zingy Zoya Nail Polish in Elodie* to cheer myself up. Zoya offers a huge range of toxin-free nail polishes (there are over 300 shades to choose from) free of the top 5 toxins usually found in nail polishes – formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, toluene, dibutyl phthalate and camphor – that are thought to cause cancer and birth defects.
Elodie is a bright cheerful orangey-red colour, it looks more orange in the bottle but when on the nails it darkens to the orangey-red shade you can see in the image above. My first thought when applying this Zoya nail polish was that the consistency is fairly watery and you need 2-3 good thick coats to get a good colour, however it does apply really easily and I suspect it won’t dry up or go ‘blobby’ like a lot of other nail polishes. The finish is quite shiny and reminds me a bit of an orange jelly bean! I didn’t bother to apply a top coat but you could do if you wanted an uber-glossy finish.
I thought that this nail polish might not have had a strong scent given that it is non-toxic, however it does still have a strong nail-varnishy chemical smell.
I love Zoya’s packaging and think the graduated bottles look really unique and premium. The small black lids are really good to hold too, which makes the polish easy to apply. I really like the ethos of Zoya, it’s the way that nail varnishes should be going with more people starting to think about the ingredients that are in their skincare and cosmetics and turning to those that contain less toxins.
Overall I really like this Zoya Nail Polish in Elodie, it’s lovely and bright and I will be wearing it a lot over the Summer months.
There are over 300 shades of Zoya Nail Polish to choose from, with lots of beautiful candy and glitter shades. Elodie is part of the Gossip Collection, a range of 6 bold, bright shades. I will be reviewing one of the Zoya Pixie Dust glitter nail polishes soon, keep an eye on Beauty Best Friend for that.
Nail Polish in Elodie is priced at £10.50 and is available from Zoya Nail Polish UK.
