W7 – Lipstick in Coral Dream

I usually stick to the same pinky and nude colours of lipstick, but I’ve been thinking about trying a coral shade for a while now. So when I saw this Coral Dream Lipstick from budget brand W7 for sale on Amazon I decided to try it. I wasn’t too sure if a coral lip shade would suit me, so I didn’t want to spend too much money on my first one.
First thing’s first… while there are some great budget make-up brands out there (I’m thinking MUA, e.l.f., Rimmel, etc) I can’t really say that W7 is one of them. The packaging is of really low quality, the lid of the bullet tube is really stiff and the sticker on the bottom of the tube showing the ‘Coral Dream’ shade name looks really cheap. I don’t think that the orangey plastic tube looks very good quality either and I find that the lid is quite difficult to take off.
However, what I do love about this W7 lipstick is the colour. Coral Dream is an orangey coral colour, and it has just a hint of a metallic sheen to it as you can see from the swatch image below. It’s a perfect pick-me-up shade for Spring or Summer, and I just know that coral is going to be big again this year.
The lipstick formula does feel a bit cheap though and it has a sort of plastic-y taste which I’m not keen on. But I just love the colour! And I think it quite suits me! What do you think of this Coral Dream shade?
I have been wearing it with a plain pale shimmery eye and lots of black smudged eyeliner and black mascara. It also looks great worn with big sunglasses!
Overall I do have to say that I’m not too keen on the W7 brand from what I have experienced of it – the packaging looks cheap and the formula of the lipstick isn’t too great. However I have found that I DO love coral lipsticks and that this shade suits me, and I have been wearing this Coral Dream shade quite a lot. I think I might go out and purchase myself a more premium coral lip colour now…..
Coral Dream Lipstick from W7 is priced at £2.19, available from Amazon.
