Urban Veda – Purifying Day Cream

I got this small sample of Purifying Day Cream from Urban Veda in my August Glossybox, but it’s taken me up until now to get round to trying it out. Urban Veda’s range of natural skincare is based on the ancient principles of Ayurveda, which originated 5,000 years ago in the Himalayas. Ayurveda promotes the idea of using nature to help live a healthier and more balanced lifestyle – a philosophy that I really admire.
All of Urban Veda’s products are free from Genetically Modified ingredients, parabens, artificial colours and Sodium Lauryl Sulphate (SLS), and none of their products have undergone animal testing. Plus all of their packaging is both recycled and recyclable. So you can use Urban Veda products safe in the knowledge that you aren’t harming yourself or the environment.
Purifying Day Cream is a light, white cream, ingredients include cold-pressed pure Neem oil, healing Witch hazel and refreshing Spearmint. It contains antioxidants to aid healthy skin cell renewal and it has a fairly strong ‘planty’ fragrance.
As this is a Day Cream it should only be used in the morning, and it leaves skin feeling cool and slightly tingly fresh for a few minutes – I am guessing this is the work of the Spearmint. After use my skin does feel moisturised, but it is a very light moisturiser so I would say it is better for oily or combination skins and wouldn’t recommend it for dry skins.
I think it’s a shame this Purifying Day Cream doesn’t contain a SPF, but other than that I am really impressed with it. It works really well with my combination skin and leaves it feeling moisturised but not shiny. I love the philosophy of Urban Veda and I would definitely try out some of their other skincare products.
Purifying Day Cream is priced at £14.99 for 50ml and is available from Urban Veda.
