Thea – Face Renew Skin Brightening System

I was recently sent a sample of Face Renew Fruit Enzyme Creme Cleanser and Creme Moisturiser from organic skincare brand Thea, these are from their Skin Brightening System range which aims to brighten and revive dull skin using a blend of fruit enzyme extracts. The fruit enzymes gently exfoliate the skin without the need for exfoliating scrubs or other harsh products.
The samples I got to try were quite small, just 15ml each. Both of the products are a thick off-white cream with a strong lemony scent – they felt a bit like rubbing lemon cheesecake over your face! I love the citrusy scent but it might not be for you if you’re not keen on strongly perfumed products.
The Face Renew Fruit Enzyme Creme Cleanser removes foundation and other face make-up quite well, but isn’t so good at removing eye make-up so I did have to use a make-up remover first. The Face Renew Fruit Enzyme Creme Moisturiser feels quite rich on the skin, and whilst I have enjoyed using it at night I found it a bit too greasy to use in a morning on my combination skin as it leaves a light oily texture over the surface of my skin making my foundation slide around.
Although I’ve only been using the Thea Face Renew Skin Brightening products for about a week I have noticed that my skin does look bright and there are no dull, dry patches on my forehead which I often get, so it’s definitely working. I like the fact that these products contain natural and organic ingredients, although after reading the small print I found out that they are only 85% organic which was a bit disappointing – there are a lot of organic skincare brands out there whose products contain a higher percentage of organic ingredients.
I like the fact that this Thea cleanser and moisturiser duo are part of a full system – there is also an exfoliator, mask and toner available as part of the Face Renew range – where all of the products combine for one outcome. The small samples meant that I could only use the system for around a week though, I would have liked to use the products for longer to see what benefits they have on the skin longer term.
