The Body Shop Ginger Sparkle Body Butter & Mango Lip Butter Review

In early January I went into The Body Shop store in York and they were having a post-Christmas sale whereby all of their yummy body butters had been reduced to £5 each and the lip butters had been reduced to £3 each. I purchased this mini-haul of butters as I just love their body butters and I was a bit low on lip balm and once I had sniffed this mango lip butter in the store I was smitten, I just love fruity scents.

The Body Shop Ginger Sparkle Body Butter

The Ginger Sparkle Body Butter was a limited edition Christmas fragrance, and I was excited to get my hands on this as I love the smell of ginger. I have found that the scent is quite citrussy and limey rather than gingery though, it should be called ‘Lime with a hint of Ginger’ – it’s still lovely but not as Christmassy and spicy as I had hoped. I had also assumed from its name that Ginger Sparkle Body Butter would have some sort of shimmer or sparkle in it a bit like The Body Shop’s Coconut Shimmer Body Butter, but it doesn’t.

I do really like Ginger Sparkle Body Butter, its consistency is a bit more liquidy and not as firm as some of the other body butters, but it melts straight into the skin and leaves a wonderful lasting scent on your skin (and in a warm bathroom after you’ve used it!) and your skin feels really moisturised afterwards. This was definitely a bargain at just £5.

The Body Shop Mango Lip Butter Review

I bought this Mango Lip Butter more for its fantastic Summery fruity scent rather than for the fact that I needed a lip balm, one sniff and I was hooked! It really does have a texture just like butter and it even tastes sweet on your lips. It does leave a slightly oily residue on the lips which you may not like if you have oily skin, but other than that it really is lovely.

The Body Shop Lip Butter comes in 6 different flavours, and as I really love fruity scents I would love to try the pink grapefruit one next!

Overall I love The Body Shop’s body butter and lip butter ranges, and The Body Shop often have fantastic sales and discounts on so you can often pick items up really cheap. Keep an eye on their website for their next big online discount.

As Ginger Sparkle Body Butter was a Christmas limited edition it is no longer available from The Body Shop but it is still available from both Amazon and The Body Shop from around £11 for 200ml so if you want to try it out snap one up quick!

Mango Lip Butter is priced at £4 for 10ml and is available from The Body Shop.

  1. I have mixed feelings for the body shop body butters, for one they smell great and are really moisturizing but the ones that i owned (i think vanilla and coconut) took a little longer to sink in the skin! But the lip balms i love them! Aw the body shop really has the best scents in their products 🙂

    • I love the scent of the coconut one but I haven’t tried vanilla. I love the fruity ones best though. xx
