Purple Glitter Christmas Nails

Purple Glitter Christmas Nails

I created this Purple Glitter Christmas nail look all ready for the big day. I love warm berry nail colours in Winter and you can’t beat a bit of sparkle too for Christmas! The purple shade is Zoya Odette – a sultry orchid maroon cream – I predicted it’s going to be a popular shade next Spring/Summer in my London Fashion Week post that I published in September, but I think it’s also just as good as a Winter nail polish. Zoya offers a huge range of toxin-free nail polishes (there are over 300 shades to choose from) free of the top 5 toxins usually found in nail polishes – formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, toluene, dibutyl phthalate and camphor – that are thought to contribute to cancer and birth defects. I painted on 2 coats of Zoya Odette, it’s fairly pigmented and dark so you don’t need any more coats. You do need to apply it carefully though as any smudges really show up given that it’s such a dark shade. The glitter...

Zoya – LFW SS15 Nail Polish Predictions

Zoya – LFW SS15 Nail Polish Predictions

London Fashion Week SS15 is a celebration and showcase of some of the world’s leading fashion talent. Not only will it shape what we’re all wearing next Spring and Summer, it’s also going to have a knock on effect on the beauty trends that we all follow too. I’m lucky enough to be working alongside nail polish experts Zoya, looking at some of the leading trends that came out of London Fashion Week and discussing how they might shape the UK nail polish horizon in 2015. (Zoya have a great range of nail polishes perfect for Autumn and Winter too – if you’re looking for something to wear in the next couple of months check out their Fall 2014 collection full of moody dark neutral shades and liquid metal shimmers). Zoya offers a huge range of toxin-free nail polishes (there are over 300 shades to choose from) free of the top 5 toxins usually found in nail polishes – formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, toluene, dibutyl phthalate and camphor – that...

Zoya – Pixie Dust Nail Polish in Arlo

Zoya – Pixie Dust Nail Polish in Arlo

Another nail polish review for you today, this one is Pixie Dust glitter nail polish in Arlo*, from Zoya. Zoya offers a huge range of toxin-free nail polishes (there are over 300 shades to choose from) free of the top 5 toxins usually found in nail polishes – formaldehyde, formaldehyde resin, toluene, dibutyl phthalate and camphor – that are thought to cause cancer and birth defects. Pixie Dust is Zoya’s range of glitter nail polishes, and Arlo is a slightly translucent pinky mauve shade. It contains silver holographic glitter flecks in 3 sizes, and I really think it could be the glitteriest sparkliest nail varnish that I have tried. The glitter is really dense and almost covers the whole of the nail after just a couple of coats, the only downside is that it makes the nail feel extremely rough, although you could add a top coat of two of clear varnish over the top which might help a little bit. I thought that this nail polish might not...

Zoya – Nail Polish in Elodie

Zoya – Nail Polish in Elodie

It’s been raining non-stop today so I decided to paint my nails in this bright zingy Zoya Nail Polish in Elodie* to cheer myself up. Elodie is a bright cheerful orangey-red colour, it looks more orange in the bottle but when on the nails it darkens to the orangey-red shade you can see in the image above. My first thought when applying this Zoya nail polish was that the consistency is fairly watery and you need 2-3 good thick coats to get a good colour, however it does apply really easily and I suspect it won’t dry up or go ‘blobby’ like a lot of other nail polishes. The finish is quite shiny and reminds me a bit of an orange jelly...
