Magnitone Lucid Cleansing Brush

Magnitone Lucid Cleansing Brush

I’d been thinking about investing in a facial cleansing brush for a while, so when Magnitone asked if I’d like to review their Lucid Daily Cleansing & Exfoliation Brush* I jumped at the chance! It’s available in 4 bright colours and I chose Sunshine Yellow. The aim of the Magnitone Lucid brush is to help deep cleanse your skin in just 1 minute a day, by using Active Electromagnetic Technology™ whereby tiny pulsations send vibrations into the skin helping to unclog pores and remove dead skin cells. The Magnitone Lucid comes conveniently packaged in a box with everything you need to get started. There’s a handy travel charger (plus a two-pin adapter if you need it) and an instruction leaflet. The charger cleverly attaches to the brush via a magnet so there’s no hole or plug where water can get in. Magnitone claim the Lucid cleansing brush can give you softer, clearer and brighter skin in just 7 days… so how did I get on? I’ve been using the brush...

Neon Chevron French Mani Tutorial

Neon Chevron French Mani Tutorial

I love a classic French manicure but in the Summer it’s great to funk it up a little bit and create something zingy. I was recently sent these W7 Nail Polishes in Orange Sorbet* and Lemon Sorbet* and I thought they’d create a great alternative French manicure. Here is my simple step-by-step tutorial to creating this bright Neon Chevron French Mani. Here is the kit that you will need: 2 bright co-ordinating nail polishes – I used W7 Nail Polishes in Orange Sorbet and Lemon Sorbet French Nail Tip Guide stickers in a chevron shape A clear top coat nail polish – I use Chanel Extreme Shine Nail Lacquer Tweezers First, paint all of your nails with two coats of one of the nail polishes and allow the nails to dry thoroughly. I used Orange Sorbet as my main colour. Once the polish on your nails is completely dry carefully stick a French Nail Tip Guide over the tip of each nail. I place them on gently at first...

Ageless Derma – Retinol & Vitamin K Eye Cream

Ageless Derma – Retinol & Vitamin K Eye Cream

I have been trying out this Retinol and Vitamin K Eye Cream from Ageless Derma to see if it lives up to its claims of eradicating dark circles, soothing puffy eyes and smoothing the fine wrinkles around the delicate eye area. Ageless Derma is a fairly new brand from the USA set up in 2006 by Dr Mostamand, founder of Focus Medical Spa in Orange County, when he realised that many skincare products don’t live up to expectations. The Ageless Derma website is very informative, explaining the function of the different ingredients that are contained in their skincare and make-up products. It also explains how dark circles are caused by damaged capillaries under the surface of the skin. Ageless Derma packaging is black and silver, fairly classy-looking, although I do find that the Retinol and Vitamin K Eye Cream bottle attracts dust when it is left out in the bathroom! The silver lid removes to reveal a pump-action nozzle, which dispenses the eye cream (although I find that it...

Gold Sparkle Nail Art

Gold Sparkle Nail Art

Welcome to my first nail art post! I created this look using two of my favourite nail polishes – Chanel’s ‘Trapeze’ which is a pale browny-gold colour and Barry M’s sparkly ‘Yellow Topaz Glitter’. For me the Chanel polish is too pale to use on its own, but is perfect as a base for nail art, allowing other colours and glitters to stand out over the top of it. First I painted 2 coats of the Chanel ‘Trapeze’ over my nails and left to dry. Then I painted a coat of the Barry M ‘Yellow Topaz Glitter’ over the top about halfway down each nail. After this coat had dried I painted another coat of the Barry M, this time only about one third of the way down each nail, this way it gives a gentle graded effect to the glitter. I finished with a clear top coat which stops the glitter feeling rough, and gives a lovely sheen. This sparkly gold nail art look is subtle and glamorous and perfect...
