Lip Pencils: MAC Patent Polish vs NARS Velvet Matte

Lip Pencils: MAC Patent Polish vs NARS Velvet Matte

The popularity of lip pencils and crayons is soaring, I suspect it’s because they’re just so easy to use. I’ve been trying out two new ones to see which I prefer. In the red corner we have MAC Patent Polish Lip Pencil and in the blue corner we have NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil. So let’s get ready to rumble while I put them through their paces…. Although the packaging of these two is quite similar the formulation and finish of the lip colours are very different – MAC Patent Polish is a light gloss and NARS Velvet Matte has a stark matte finish. Max Factor – Velvet Volume False Lash Effect Mascara

Max Factor is one of my go-to brands for mascara, for years I wore their 2000 Calorie Mascara before discovering False Lash Effect Mascara which then became my favourite. I do find however that I need to add a couple of coats in order to get the dense dramatic coverage that I like, otherwise my...

Bourjois – Cream Blush in Nude Velvet

Bourjois – Cream Blush in Nude Velvet

I’ve had this Cream Blush from Bourjois in my list of products to review for absolutely ages, but just never got round to it. I think it’s because I tend to shy away from cream products, preferring powder options as I find them easier to apply. Anyway, I thought it was about time I bit the bullet and got my review written up… The Cream Blush comes in one of Bourjois’ iconic ‘Little Round Pots’ which are instantly distinguishable. There’s a mirror inside the lid too which is small but does the job. Bourjois Cream Blush is available in six shades, I’ve been testing out Nude Velvet (shade 01) which is a peachy shade perfect for paler skintones. The texture of the Cream Blush is a cream-to-powder formula, it feels creamy in the pot but once you apply it to your skin it feels much drier, almost like a powder consistency. I quite like this as I don’t like applying anything too wet over the top of my foundation and powder....
