Looking for an outstanding organic moisturiser with SPF?

Looking for an outstanding organic moisturiser with SPF?

Over the past year or so I’ve been trying to replace all of my everyday skincare and bodycare products with those that are more natural, choosing organic where I can. One area where I’ve struggled a bit is with moisturiser that contains an SPF, I always try to wear an SPF on my face, even in Winter. I have feint dark pigment marks around my eyes (these got worse when I was pregnant but have thankfully calmed down a lot now) and these get much darker when I’ve been in natural daylight. My old favourite moisturiser was Clarins HydraQuench Lotion which I reviewed back in 2013 and as much as it really suited my combination skin I felt it was time to look for something a bit more natural. It took quite a bit of searching to find something that I felt I was happy to try out, as there doesn’t seem to be a lot of natural moisturisers with SPF out there to choose from. Enter Green People Day...

Yogandha – Balance Roll-On Body Oil

Yogandha – Balance Roll-On Body Oil

If you’re a regular reader of Beauty Best Friend blog you may have noticed that I’ve been AWOL for a few days – that’s because I’ve been busy with other things… Two weeks ago I gave birth to a beautiful baby daughter, so blogging has had to take a back seat for a few days whilst I take care of her and we try to get into a routine. I was also struck down by a kidney infection which was the last thing I needed, but luckily I’m feeling much better now and we’re starting to get into some kind of a routine. A few days before I gave birth I was sent this Roll-On Body Oil* from Yogandha and it couldn’t have come at a better time! Available in three scents I chose the Balance variety to help balance and normalise my hormones after having a baby – the other two fragrances are stress relieving Ground and uplifting Salute. All of Yogandha’s wellness oils are 100% natural, vegan and...

Benecos – Vegan Eye Make-Up

Benecos – Vegan Eye Make-Up

Benecos is a brand that I hadn’t really heard of until a few weeks ago when I tried their Shampoo for Silky Hair. All of their products are free of parabens & silicones etc, contain 100% natural and organic ingredients and are certified vegan. I was interested to hear that as well as haircare and skincare Benecos also do make-up, I think there’s a real lack of natural and vegan make-up around, so I was eager to see what they had to offer. The Natural Eyebrow Designer* pencil and Vegan Wonder Natural Mascara* are both fairly new products from the Benecos range. Vegan Wonder Natural Mascara – I’ve only used this a few times so far and I think it’s OK. I usually like to go for thickening, curling, plumping mascaras that add volume and length and give me lots of thick black lashes, whereas this Benecos mascara gives more of a natural looking effect and if you want to build up the coverage on your lashes then you...

Benecos – Shampoo for Silky Hair

Benecos – Shampoo for Silky Hair

You may have read some of my reviews of SLS-free shampoos in the past, for example this Sensitive Shampoo from Lavera, and know that I suffer from a very sensitive and itchy scalp. I’ve narrowed the cause down to the ingredients in shampoo and conditioner and now I always choose haircare products that are free of sodium laureth sulphate (SLS) and that contain as many natural ingredients as possible. Benecos is a brand that I haven’t tried before, the name means literally means ‘good cosmetics’ – in Latin the word ‘bene’ means ‘good’. All of their products are free of parabens & silicones etc, contain 100% natural and organic ingredients and are certified vegan. I’ve been using their Shampoo for Silky Hair for almost three weeks now, the ingredients include organic Apple Flower Extract. The shampoo is quite runny and an opaque golden colour, very much like runny honey. It has a gentle sweet scent too that I really like. The only problem is that as it’s quite runny you need...
