Bee Good – Honey & Wild Water Mint 3-in-1 Cleansing Water

Bee Good – Honey & Wild Water Mint 3-in-1 Cleansing Water

All things honey and bee-related are really popular at the moment, plus it has recently been highlighted that honey has wonderful properties that help to treat and improve skin. This Bee Good Honey & Water Mint 3-in-1 Cleansing Water is made in Hampshire, UK, from the honey of British bees and other natural ingredients and contains no synthetics or parabens. This 3-in-1 Cleansing Water is a clear liquid with hardly any scent and it really does have 3 benefits – it dissolves and removes make-up, cleanses the skin like a cleanser and then tones and refreshes the skin. It should be applied to a cotton wool pad then swept over the face, with no need to rinse afterwards, and can be used morning and night. Personally I don’t like products where there is no need to rinse as I don’t like the feeling of a product being left on the skin, so I have been using it as a pre-cleanse to remove make-up before using my usual Eucerin Dermo...

Lancome – Bi-Facil Make-Up Remover

Lancome – Bi-Facil Make-Up Remover

Today I wanted to share one of my favourite eye make-up remover products with you. Unfortunately I don’t currently have a full-sized bottle to photograph, so the image above is of a sample-sized bottle that I received in last year’s Selfridge’s Beauty Advent Calendar. I have included a stock image below of the full-sized product though so you can see what it looks like. Lancome Bi-Facil Make-Up Remover is a bi-phase liquid, this means that the liquid is split into 2 layers – a pale turquoise layer at the bottom and a darker blue layer on top. You need to shake the bottle before use, and the 2 layers merge into one shimmery pale blue layer. You can see the bi-phase 2 layers clearly in the stock image below… The bottle of the Bi-Facil Make-Up Remover says that it is non-oily but I actually disagree, I do feel that it has a slightly oily texture but this is why I like it. It has a pleasant fragrance and glides...

Organic Surge – Kiss And Make-Up Cleansing Wipes

Organic Surge – Kiss And Make-Up Cleansing Wipes

Before I go into detail about this product I want to first say that as a general rule I don’t like cleansing wipes. In my opinion they don’t cleanse the skin as well as a cleanser does, and they can sometimes just move the dirt/make-up around your face without actually removing it all properly. But they are a godsend if you’re feeling particularly tired at night as they’re quick and easy to use, and if you’re really lazy and sometimes forget to remove your make-up then it’s better to remove it with a cleansing wipe than not at all! My first recommendation would be that if you do prefer to use cleansing wipes you use two – remove the bulk of the dirt and make-up with one, and then use another one to remove the last traces to ensure you don’t leave any residue on your face. Then rinse long and well with warm water to freshen the skin and remove any chemicals that the cleansing wipe has left...

Queen – Eye Make-Up Remover

Queen – Eye Make-Up Remover

I was recently asked to try this Eye Make-Up Remover from sensitive skin specialists Queen. Queen have been making hypo-allergenic products since 1927 and have never tested their products on animals. This Eye-Make Up Remover is super-mild with no fragrances or colourings and is suitable for contact lens wearers. Most of the other make-up remover products that I have tried in the past have been liquids so I was surprised to see this one from Queen is a thick, rich cream with almost a balm consistency. I suppose it makes sense really, as this is less likely to run into the eyes by accident than a liquid product. The Eye-Make-Up Remover cream should be applied to a cotton wool pad, then gently pressed over the delicate eye area. I found that my eyeshadow and eyeliner melted away immediately, but it did take much longer to remove my mascara and I had to rub quite a bit to make sure it was all removed from the base of my lashes....

Oceane – Make Up Remover Pen

Oceane – Make Up Remover Pen

I received this Make Up Remover Pen from Oceane in my August Glossybox. Oceane is a Brazilian brand and their products are not yet available in the UK, so I’m not too sure why Glossybox are promoting this product when it can’t be purchased over here yet. Anyway, it is a Make Up Remover Pen that can be used to tidy up little smudges and errors that inevitably occur when applying make-up. The pen contains liquid make-up remover that is absorbed by the nib, and then you use it to get rid of those pesky smudges of mascara, eye liner and powder, etc. Once the nib gets covered in make-up you simply remove it and insert a new one, the pack comes with 3 spare nibs. I’m not sure how easy it is to change the nib though, as I haven’t needed to do it yet. It is useful for removing mascara smudges, I have also used it for eyeshadow powder drop-off under my eyes but the pen does...

Glossybox – August 2013

Glossybox – August 2013

My August Glossybox arrived a couple of days ago. I’m sorry to say that the jury is still out on this one for me – the theme is ‘High Flyers’, and it’s a collection of products for the ‘girl on the go’ all sized at under 100ml so they can be stored in your hand luggage. I’m not too impressed at first glance, but my opinions may change once I have actually started testing out the products. The first item is a full-sized 15ml Tresemme Keratin Smooth 60 Second Treatment Shot which retails at £1.49. I have read good things about this treatment and while Tresemme isn’t a brand I would normally choose I am looking forward to trying this out. This Treatment Shot aims to smooth and hydrate the hair so in terms of the ‘High Flyers’ theme I would suggest this is probably a product that you would use BEFORE going on holiday, rather than taking it with you, although you may decide to use it whilst on...

Clarins – Gentle Eye Make Up Remover & Water Purify One-Step Cleanser

Clarins – Gentle Eye Make Up Remover & Water Purify One-Step Cleanser

I placed an order online with Clarins a couple of weeks ago for their HydraQuench Lotion (you can see my review of that here) and got the chance to order 6 small samples of Clarins products. Clarins are really good at offering product samples, both online and at their counters, in fact it’s how I very first got into Clarins products many years ago. I recommend that if you’ve never really tried Clarins before visit one of their counters and suggest that you’re looking for some new skincare products but you’re not sure what to choose and you don’t want to buy something without trying it first – they will be really helpful and send you away with a selection of samples to try out at home. What’s more, they will be in proper little bottles and tubes, not sachets like a lot of the other skincare brands offer. The first product is Clarins Gentle Eye Make-Up Remover. Now I have to admit that I’m a bit lazy when...
