The lip balm that tastes good enough to eat!

The lip balm that tastes good enough to eat!

I picked up this cute Bee Good Raspberry & White Chocolate Lip Balm* in my goody bag from a recent blogger event that I attended in Leeds, the #LeedsMarchMeet. It was a social meeting for bloggers who live in the Leeds area and the aim was to raise money and collect donations for a local foodbank. I had a great time at #LeedsMarchMeet, it’s always nice to meet other bloggers – they’re such a friendly bunch! We also got crafty making our own name badges and feasted on sweets and tasty homemade cakes. There were several health and beauty goodies in my goody bag including this lip balm from Bee Good. The brand was created in 2008 by a Hampshire beekeeper and his wife when they were looking to find uses for excess honey and beeswax from their bees. The brand has leaping bunny status, meaning that their products aren’t tested on animals, and the natural ingredients of the lip balm include British beeswax, Vitamin E, Borage Oil and Echium...

Balmi – Cube Lip Balm Raspberry

Balmi – Cube Lip Balm Raspberry

This little Balmi Cube Lip Balm* was inside my goody bag that I received at The City Girls blogger event that I attended a couple of weeks ago in Leeds, and it’s so cute that I thought it warranted its own review. It came packaged inside the clear plastic bauble which I think would be great re-used at Christmas – I might put some crafty DIY skills into practice and fill it with confetti and glitter and hang it on the Christmas tree! To get to the lip balm you simply twist off the lid of the rubbery cube container. The lip balm sticks up in a sort of hard cone shape making it ideal to apply to both of the lips at once, and it has a raspberry flavour, it’s delicious and smells/tastes really sweet. The Balmi Lip Balm contains SPF15 too which I think is important in a lip balm to help protect the delicate lips from the effects of the sun. The little cube has a tag hanging from it...

MUA – Sheer Finish Lipgloss in Too Much Fun

MUA – Sheer Finish Lipgloss in Too Much Fun

It’s been a while since I’ve reviewed anything from MUA so today I’m going to be talking about their Sheer Finish Lipgloss in Too Much Fun. MUA Sheer Finish Lipgloss is a budget rival to Lancôme Juicy Tubes and other similar glosses. The little tubes fit nicely in a pocket or handbag and I love to use lipgloss for a sheer Summer make-up look. The MUA Sheer Finish Lipgloss squirts straight out of the end of the tube onto the lips, and you can then use the flattened nozzle to spread the lipgloss across your lips. This one has a lovely strawberry taste and is really glossy. ‘Too Much Fun’  is a bright raspberry pink, you can clearly see the colour on the swatch image below and it’s really thick and glossy. What’s more, it’s not too runny either and it stays put, not bleeding over the lip line. When I apply lipgloss I like to just apply a really thin coat, as I don’t like the feeling of a...

Lancome – Gloss In Love in Under The Spotlight

Lancome – Gloss In Love in Under The Spotlight

This Gloss In Love lipgloss was another Lancome sample that I got in my Selfridges Beauty Advent Calendar, but as it’s such a popular product I wanted to review it and let my readers know what I thought of it. Under The Spotlight (number 385) is a raspberry pink with lots of shimmer and shine, but it’s not too bright. It’s probably not the sort of colour I would normally choose for myself (I usually stick to pale pinks and nude browns) but one of the reasons that I love trying out trial sizes and samples so much is that you end up having a go with things that you wouldn’t always try out and sometimes you find a real gem. You can clearly see the shimmer in the swatch image above, and this shimmer really adds to the glossy shine when it is on the lips. It applies to the lips easily using the felt applicator inside the lid, the pointed end is great for defining the top...

Clarins – Joli Rouge Lipstick in Pink Camellia

Clarins – Joli Rouge Lipstick in Pink Camellia

This is the second Joli Rouge lipstick from Clarins that I have tested, this one is Pink Camellia*. I am a big fan of Clarins skincare products, but I have only recently started to try out their make-up range.  My first impression is that Clarins keep it quite safe with predictable, but very wearable, shades and the quality of their make-up products is good. The Joli Rouge lipstick range contains ingredients that help plump and hydrate for full, soft and supple lips, this lipstick has a lovely creamy consistency and applies really nicely both direct from the tube and with a lipbrush. It has a feint fruity strawberry scent which is really nice. Pink Camellia is a dark raspberry pink colour but the texture is lovely and buttery and sheer, so it is very wearable and doesn’t look too bright on the lips. The swatch image above clearly shows how glossy Pink Camellia is. I just love the sophisticated shiny silver bullet tubes too, they look really glamorous (they’re...

The Body Shop – Room Fragrance Oils & Spritz

The Body Shop – Room Fragrance Oils & Spritz

Whilst The Body Shop have been holding their fantastic sale I have treated myself to some room fragrance products. I love rooms to smell nice – I feel it helps to lift the mood and makes interiors feels fresh and clean – but I hate those plug-in things that smell far too overpowering and artificial. The first room fragrance product I have tried from The Body Shop is Pomegranate & Raspberry Home Fragrance Oil. This lovely, fruity colourless oil is slightly reminiscent of the old Body Shop bestseller Dewberry, and words can’t describe how gorgeous it smells! It’s a perfect fragrance for Summer and it can be used in an oil burner or a couple of drops put into the top of a chunky candle (never leave burning candles unattended). I love fruity fragrances and this doesn’t disappoint, I also love The Body Shop’s Satsuma products and there is a Room Fragrance Oil available in that too. The second product is Jasmine & White Frangipani Home Fragrance Oil. This...

Bellapierre – Super Gloss in Raspberry

Bellapierre – Super Gloss in Raspberry

I recently received my May Glossybox and nestled inside it was this lovely Raspberry Super Gloss lipgloss from UK brand Bellapierre who produce 100% natural mineral cosmetics. I was really pleased to see that Glossybox are promoting natural make-up brands. Firstly – what is mineral make-up? It is make-up made from naturally occuring minerals that are found in the earth. These minerals are ground up into fine particles and used to make powders, foundations and other products. These minerals provide coloured pigments, and also sun protection and anti-inflammatory effects. All of Bellapierre’s products are based on natural ingredients and are paraben-free. Bellapierre Super Gloss is a great lipgloss, it’s not too thick or sticky. Although the Raspberry colour looks rather dark in the tube it is very sheer on the lips with a nice shine and no shimmer, and it tastes of raspberry too which is nice. In the photo below I have applied a thin coat of the Super Gloss on its own, but you can build it up to give more colour or apply it over...
