Chase the glitter rainbow with Moondust from Urban Decay

Chase the glitter rainbow with Moondust from Urban Decay

For a long time now I’ve been searching for a seriously glittery eyeshadow. Not just one that shimmers and shines, but one that actually glitters, containing tiny particles of glitter that give serious twinkle when they hit the light. I’ve experimented with actual cosmetic glitter like the fabulous budget range of cosmetic glitters from Stargazer. and had fantastic results using Urban Decay Heavy Metal Glitter Eyeliners but I had struggled to find an actual eyeshadow that fitted the bill….. that is until now! This is the stunning Moondust eyeshadow palette from Urban Decay. Urban Decay do palettes so well, and I’d lusted after this one as soon as it was released but sadly it was sold out for ages (as is usual with so many of Urban Decay’s new releases). I finally got my hands on it last month and the wait was worth it! Firstly can we just take a moment to take in the sheer beauty of the Moondust palette…….. The hard case with mirrored word ‘moondust’ on the lid...

Charlotte Tilbury – Luxury Palette and K.I.S.S.I.N.G. Lipstick

Charlotte Tilbury – Luxury Palette and K.I.S.S.I.N.G. Lipstick

So welcome to the next big thing in luxury make-up…. it’s Charlotte Tilbury! Products that have been designed to look as good in your handbag as they do on your face, you’ll never be ashamed to get these out in public for a quick make-up touch-up! I treated myself to this Luxury Palette and K.I.S.S.I.N.G. Lipstick with some money that I received for Christmas and I haven’t been disappointed. Read on to find out what I think… Luxury Palette in The Uptown Girl – in each Luxury Palette there are 4 co-ordinating eyeshadows that can take you from desk, through to dusk and on to the disco! There’s a short video on the Charlotte Tilbury website that shows how to apply the eyeshadows to create three different looks – a subtle one for daytime, a slightly smokier look for evening and then a full-on sparkle-fest for the nightclub. To be honest I’m a sucker for sparkle so I usually go for this last one no matter what time of day it...

The Body Shop Christmas 2015 Collection

I love The Body Shop® at Christmas as they have such amazing products and this year is no exception. I was lucky enough to be sent a selection of new products to try out, and I can honestly say that I love each and every one! I really think that The Body Shop® has stepped up its game over the last few years, they now have some fantastic make-up and their Christmas fragrances are second to none – plus it’s so affordable! This is my first of a two-part review of The Body Shop® Christmas range, as I attended a special blogger evening at my local store in York on Friday evening – so keep an eye out for my second post later this week to find out what we got up to! Glazed Apple Shimmer Mist* – Shimmer Mist is a completely new product for Christmas 2015 and apparently it’s selling like hot cakes – so if you want one you’ll need to get in quick! KOREAN BEAUTY Too Cool For School – Artclass by Rodin

KOREAN BEAUTY Too Cool For School – Artclass by Rodin

I am currently taking part in an initiative working with BNT News International, a global beauty/fashion/lifestyle and entertainment source based in Seoul, South Korea. I am helping BNT to promote a selection of new and exciting Korean beauty products to a UK audience, these are products that you probably won’t have seen before and some of them are really different and unique. This is the second month that I have taken part, a couple of the previous items that I reviewed in July were Too Cool For School Hot Girl Lash and May Coop Raw Sauce. Today I am talking about the fabulous Artclass By Rodin* contouring powder compact from Too Cool For School. This is the second product that I’ve tried from this brand and it’s fast becoming one of my favourite Korean beauty brands. Rodin was a French sculptor who lived between 1840 and 1917. I’m not too sure what he’d have thought about having his name put to a make-up product, but I can see why...

The budget W7 Bronzer/Blusher/Highlighter palette you can’t live without!

The budget W7 Bronzer/Blusher/Highlighter palette you can’t live without!

I really love discovering new products from budget beauty brand W7, they’re so affordable and yet they so often produce amazing dupes for cult beauty items from other brands. You might have seen my review of W7 Night Glow liquid highlighter a couple of weeks ago which is a complete dupe for Benefit High Beam. I spotted the Cheeky Trio palette on Amazon it’s a pressed powder palette containing a bronzer, blusher and highlighter and it reminds me a bit of Sleek Face Form Contour Palettes (but this W7 option is much cheaper at under a fiver!) I’ve been looking for a good highlighting powder for ages so I thought I’d give it a go… The three powder shades are called Dream Machine (bronzer), 5th Avenue (blusher) and Hot Stuff (highlighter). The surfaces of the powders are rippled which look quite effective in the palette but I did find it made it a little bit difficult to swish your brush over them evenly! The image above shows swatches of the three...

MUA – Spring Break Eyeshadow Palette

MUA – Spring Break Eyeshadow Palette

A few months ago all the beauty blogs were full of reviews of MUA make-up, but following the launch of several other similar budget beauty brands they seem to have fallen off the radar a little bit. Stocked in most Superdrug stores MUA is a great affordable high-street brand and when I saw this Spring Break Eyeshadow Palette in the York store a couple of weeks back I was immediately drawn to its bright Spring pastel shades and I had to have it. The Spring Break palette contains 12 round eyeshadows in a range of nude pinks, browns and zingy pastels (most of which have a shimmery finish) and a small double ended sponge applicator. The shadows are named on the base of the palette, although the label is a bit blurred and it’s a bit difficult to read the names of some of the shades (no, it’s not just my dodgy photographer skills!). My overall opinion on this palette is that the shades look great in the palette, but when applying...

Clarins – Perfect Eyes & Brows Palette

Clarins – Perfect Eyes & Brows Palette

This Perfect Eyes & Brows Palette* is a new product from Clarins, it’s an all-in-one compact set that contains everything you need to keep your eyebrows neat, tidy and defined plus a suits-all range of basic eyeshadows. If you like to keep your make-up bag pared back then this is for you! The classy gold compact contains three pressed powders in varying neutral shades (which can be used on brows or eyelids), a holding wax to set brows and a luminous pink shadow to enhance and highlight the eyes (I like to add a small dab of this just below my brow bone to highlight the area. There is also a double applicator, an eyebrow brush and mini tweezers –  I love the tweezers, they’re so cute! The set also comes with a little instruction sheet that gives you step-by-step instructions on how to use the different elements of the kit to get great brows. I really like the wax product, it should be brushed gently over the brows...

The Body Shop – Shimmer Cube Palette in Green & Smudger Brush

The Body Shop – Shimmer Cube Palette in Green & Smudger Brush

A duo from The Body Shop for you today, it’s Shimmer Cube Palette in Green* and the Smudger Brush*. Shimmer Cube Palette in Green – I used to have one of these Shimmer Cubes in a browny/gold shade years ago and found that it was a bit crumbly, but The Body Shop have definitely improved the formula of these since then. Available in 7 shades, the Shimmer Cube Palette contains 4 little cube blocks of eyeshadow – each one in it’s own removable lidded perspex box so you can take them out of the palette, rearrange them, or take them out with you. Three of the green shades are iridescent and shimmery, perfect for highlighting the whole of the eye area or smudging into the crease of the eye socket. The darkest jade green shade has more of a matt finish which makes it great for contouring the outer corner of the eye for a dark, smokey look. The shadows are pretty much crease resistant, just don’t apply too...
