Nailed London – Gel Wear Nail Polishes

Nailed London – Gel Wear Nail Polishes

These are the lovely new Gel Wear polishes* from Nailed London, a new brand launched in September 2015 by Made In Chelsea’s fashion blogger Rosie Fortescue. OK so I have to admit I’m not really down with ‘MIC’ so when I first heard about these polishes I thought they might be a bit of a gimmick, but as soon as I received them I could see that they’re great quality and hopefully the brand is here to stay. There are 28 different shades to choose from, and 4 glitter top coats plus the Base Coat and clear Glossy Top Coat that give these colours their gel finish. The three shades that I’ve been using are: Stormy Violets – a shimmery metallic dusky blue shade that looks great dressed down with jeans Chica Bonita – a snow white that looks chic on its own, plus it provides the perfect matt background to bright nail art Citron-Ella – a zesty primrose yellow that will be perfect for Spring I’ve been wearing...

Broadway Nails – imPRESS Press-On Manicure

Broadway Nails – imPRESS Press-On Manicure

My experiences with false nails in the past have not been good ones – I hate the state they leave my nails in after you’ve pulled them off, the glue is just too strong and harsh on the nails in my opinion. So when I was asked to try an imPRESS Press-On Manicure* from Broadway Nails I wasn’t too sure what to expect. imPRESS is a new range of false nails, created to look like a gel manicure and quick and easy to apply using the sticky tabs that are already on the back of each nail. There’s no nail glue required and you don’t need to cure them or wait for polish to dry – just apply them and you’re ready to go. Sound too good to be true? I was sent two pairs of imPRESS Press-On Manicure nails to try – the mottled blue nail art effect ones are called ‘Dancing Queen’ and the crimson ones are called ‘Call My Agent’. I decided to try out Call...

Neon Chevron French Mani Tutorial

Neon Chevron French Mani Tutorial

I love a classic French manicure but in the Summer it’s great to funk it up a little bit and create something zingy. I was recently sent these W7 Nail Polishes in Orange Sorbet* and Lemon Sorbet* and I thought they’d create a great alternative French manicure. Here is my simple step-by-step tutorial to creating this bright Neon Chevron French Mani. Here is the kit that you will need: 2 bright co-ordinating nail polishes – I used W7 Nail Polishes in Orange Sorbet and Lemon Sorbet French Nail Tip Guide stickers in a chevron shape A clear top coat nail polish – I use Chanel Extreme Shine Nail Lacquer Tweezers First, paint all of your nails with two coats of one of the nail polishes and allow the nails to dry thoroughly. I used Orange Sorbet as my main colour. Once the polish on your nails is completely dry carefully stick a French Nail Tip Guide over the tip of each nail. I place them on gently at first...

Clyppi – Stainless Steel Fingernail Clipper

Clyppi – Stainless Steel Fingernail Clipper

I have to admit that fingernail clippers aren’t really something that usually excite me, I see them as a rather boring, necessary tool rather than a fun beauty accessory. In fact, before I was asked to try out Clyppi Stainless Steel Fingernail Clippers* I thought that this type of nail clipper was generally a tool that was used for toenails and not fingernails. However, this is a new ‘ultra cool precision tool’ for the fingernails and I have been using mine for about a week now and I have to say that I am really impressed with my Clyppi! The Clyppi Fingernail Clipper works like a traditional toenail clipper, but it is really sturdy and made from smooth, sleek stainless steel. The top lever lifts up and swivels round, underneath it is concealed a mini metal nail file – although I won’t be using this as I find that metal files can tear my nails and I prefer the softer sandpaper or crystal type ones. When the lever is...

Purple French Mani

Purple French Mani

I’ve not posted many nail art designs recently, so I wanted to share this Purple French Manicure look I created for New Year’s Eve. Both of the polishes are from Seche, the lilac one is ‘Not Easily  Swept Away’ and the dark purple, almost black, shade is ‘Empress’. I simply painted the lilac Not Easily Swept Away shade all over each nail and followed with another coat, then left it to dry for a few minutes. After the paler Seche colour had dried I carefully painted the tips of my nails using the dark Empress shade. I find it easiest to paint nail tips freehand, I place my fingertip on a flat surface then I gently place the nail polish brush at one side of my nail tip and rotate the nail tip rather than moving the brush. If one or two of the tips are a bit messy I just go over them again once they are dry. You can also get little stickers that make it easier...
