How to make easy extra money online every month

How to make easy extra money online every month

As a beauty blogger I end up spending a lot of my disposable income on skincare and make-up…. plus haircare, nail polish, supplements, fragrance, the list goes on. All in the name of blogging, obvs! (Well, that’s what I like to tell myself.) Anyway, I like to supplement my monthly spending by making a bit of extra money on the side. As I have a toddler to look after I don’t have a lot of spare time, so these are all quick and easy methods of making money that you can do online in your own time. Prolific Academic Prolific Academic is a survey website, and it’s my favourite. It’s easy to earn £30 or more each month using Prolific Academic and unlike other survey sites it only shows you the surveys that you’re eligible for so you don’t spend ages answering questions only to find out you’ve been screened out. Some of the surveys take as little as 2 minutes, other takes slightly longer, but it tells...

Introducing JK Mineral Make-Up

Introducing JK Mineral Make-Up

I adore mineral make-up. I like knowing that my make-up doesn’t contain lots of nasty chemicals, I like the feel of it on my skin, I like that it doesn’t clog my pores. So when I heard about a new brand of mineral make-up I was very much looking forward to trying it out. If you haven’t heard of mineral make-up before it’s made up of natural minerals such as zinc, talc and iron oxides, elements that occur naturally within the world. These minerals are ground down into tiny particles to create powder make-up, and they don’t require any nasty preservatives, perfumes or dyes. Mineral make-up is very quickly growing in popularity and it’s thought to be very good for acne and sensitive skin as it doesn’t clog the pores like regular make-up can. JK Mineral Makeup is a new make-up range developed in the UK by Jody Knight, an elite permanent make-up artist. Jody uses permanent cosmetic treatments such as medical tattooing to help mask scars and create new...

So Eco vs EcoTools make-up brushes

So Eco vs EcoTools make-up brushes

Make-up brushes are big business at the moment with many brands jostling to take over the market. There are cheap brushes, expensive brushes, coloured brushes, mini brushes… the list goes on. But the niche that I’m going to be looking at today is natural eco-friendly brushes. Made from natural renewable materials, cruelty free bristles and with recyclable packaging these socially responsible brands target those of us with a conscience when it comes to our make-up brushes and applicators. I’ve been trying out two brushes – Skin Perfecting Brush* from EcoTools and Blush Brush* from So Eco. Both of these brands produce eco-friendly make-up brushes (hence their names both have ‘eco’ in them) and whilst you might have already seen EcoTools brushes for sale online and in Boots stores the So Eco brand may be one that is new to you. EcoTools Skin Perfecting Brush – this brush has short squat bristles which makes it excellent for pressing cream products into the skin, a bit like a stippling brush but...

Charlotte Tilbury – Luxury Palette and K.I.S.S.I.N.G. Lipstick

Charlotte Tilbury – Luxury Palette and K.I.S.S.I.N.G. Lipstick

So welcome to the next big thing in luxury make-up…. it’s Charlotte Tilbury! Products that have been designed to look as good in your handbag as they do on your face, you’ll never be ashamed to get these out in public for a quick make-up touch-up! I treated myself to this Luxury Palette and K.I.S.S.I.N.G. Lipstick with some money that I received for Christmas and I haven’t been disappointed. Read on to find out what I think… Luxury Palette in The Uptown Girl – in each Luxury Palette there are 4 co-ordinating eyeshadows that can take you from desk, through to dusk and on to the disco! There’s a short video on the Charlotte Tilbury website that shows how to apply the eyeshadows to create three different looks – a subtle one for daytime, a slightly smokier look for evening and then a full-on sparkle-fest for the nightclub. To be honest I’m a sucker for sparkle so I usually go for this last one no matter what time of day it...

Which Marilyn Monroe red lipstick suits you?

Which Marilyn Monroe red lipstick suits you?

Max Factor have recently launched a brand new collection of red lipsticks inspired by none other than Marilyn Monroe. Marilyn was seldom seem without her iconic red lips after Max Factor transformed her from plain old Norma Jean into the idol that we know today, and red lips have always been seen as extra-glamorous. Personally I usually shy away from a red lipstick unless I’m feeling ultra-confident, but I do usually receive compliments when I wear it. There are four shades in the new Marilyn Monroe lipstick collection, each one created to suit a different skintone: 1 Ruby Red – this was Marilyn’s original red shade and personally I think a bright crimson red will suit anyone. You do need to have the confidence to carry it off, but worn with a minimal eye (think just a smudge of black liner and lashings of mascara) it looks great. I’m on the search for a good bright red lip liner pencil to compliment this Ruby Red shade – do you...

KOREAN BEAUTY Vely Vely – Lipstick in Red Rouge

KOREAN BEAUTY Vely Vely – Lipstick in Red Rouge

I am currently taking part in an initiative working with BNT News International, a global beauty/fashion/lifestyle and entertainment source based in Seoul, South Korea. I am helping BNT to promote a selection of new and exciting Korean beauty products to a UK audience, these are products that you probably won’t have seen before and some of them are really different and unique. You may have already seen some of my previous Korean beauty reviews, such as this post about Magic Capsule Silky Make Up Base from i-MIIX. This is a Vely Vely Lipstick from Korean make-up brand Imvely, I don’t know too much about the brand really but I’m really impressed with the packaging – the sleek black bullet tube is sturdy and well made and would rival anything from MAC. The shade is No 19 Red Rouge, it’s a bright crimson red – very vibrant. I’m a big believer that every girl should own a red lipstick, although I have to admit I don’t wear red very often...

KOREAN BEAUTY I-MIIX – Magic Capsule Silky Make Up Base

KOREAN BEAUTY I-MIIX – Magic Capsule Silky Make Up Base

I am currently taking part in an initiative working with BNT News International, a global beauty/fashion/lifestyle and entertainment source based in Seoul, South Korea. I am helping BNT to promote a selection of new and exciting Korean beauty products to a UK audience, these are products that you probably won’t have seen before and some of them are really different and unique. You may have already seen some of my previous Korean beauty reviews, such as this post about Artclass by Rodin contour palette from Too Cool For School. I’ve got another Korean make-up review for you today, this is Magic Capsule Silky Make Up Base from i-MIIX, it’s a colour correcting primer that you apply underneath your foundation to help even out skintone. Available in five different colours I was sent the green one which promises to tone down any red or pink undertones in the skin. I get quite rosy cheeks, particularly in cold weather, so this was the ideal choice for me. The other product colours...

Budget eye make-up from W7

Budget eye make-up from W7

I love discovering great budget make-up products and W7 is one of my favourite brands for this. A couple of months ago I reviewed a selection of their affordable lip products, and today I’m going to be telling you about some of their eye make-up… W7 Pearl Eyes pencils* – first up are these chunky eye pencils in Park Lane and Easy Does It. Park Lane is a dark chestnut brown and Easy Does It is a reddy bronze. Both shades have a pearlised shimmer to them and smudge nicely with a cotton bud. In the swatch image below, from left to right – Park Lane, Easy Does It. Park Lane is easily my favourite and has replaced my trusty black eyeliner for a while now. I just draw on a little at the outer corners of both my upper and lower lash lines then smudge with a cotton bud for a low key look. You could also use them all over the eyelid as a shadow, they’re long...
