What I got up to at the LUSH York reopening event

LUSH is one of those brands that I’ve dabbled with but never really fully immersed myself in. I have to admit that I’m sometimes put off going into the stores by the strong scent that comes wafting out of the doors, and I’m not really a bath bomb fan either, which is kind of LUSH’s big thing. However I have read great reviews of loads of their products and they have great ethics when it comes to animal testing and using natural products – last year I reviewed a LUSH fresh facemask, Cosmetic Warrior, and it’s innovations like this that are totally different and where LUSH really stands out from its competitors. A couple of weeks ago I was invited to the big reopening event of the LUSH store in York. The store had been closed for a few weeks while it was being refurbished and I was very excited to see the result. Lush – Cosmetic Warrior Fresh Face Mask

I’ve got a confession to make… until a couple of weeks ago I’d never ever tried a Lush product. I’d always been put off by the overpowering smell coming out of the shops and thought they were a bit of a gimmick until my sister forced me to go in with her one day (their bath bombs are one of her favourite ever things!). I was really surprised to see all the different products that they had available, to find out that they don’t test their products or ingredients on animals and that a lot of their items are made from natural ingredients. Lush also do a lot of campaigning for cruelty free – they remind me a bit of The Body Shop in the 1980s when they weren’t afraid to stand out from the rest and stood up for what they believed in.
