Clarins – HydraQuench Tinted Moisturizer

Clarins – HydraQuench Tinted Moisturizer

Today I am reviewing a new Clarins product, HydraQuench Tinted Moisturizer. I have combination skin with an oily nose and chin, but dry cheeks and forehead and I regularly use Clarins HydraQuench Lotion SPF15 (now called Hydra Essential Milky Lotion) as it suits my skin perfectly – you can read my review of that here. So when I was asked if I would like to try this Tinted Moisturizer from the HydraQuench family I didn’t need to think twice about it. I’ve been a huge fan of Clarins skincare and make-up for many years, in fact it was the first premium skincare brand that I bought from as I liked the fact that you could easily get samples to try at home first before you had to spend your hard-earned money on a full size product. I have been using the Sand shade which is the second lightest shade, a pale tan with a pinky undertone. It would be too dark for my pale skin in the Winter, but...

Clarins – HydraQuench Intensive Serum Bi-Phase

Clarins – HydraQuench Intensive Serum Bi-Phase

I know I post a lot of reviews of Clarins products, but that’s because I’ve been using them for a long while and I really like them. Today I am talking about a sample of HydraQuench Intensive Serum Bi-Phase that I received the last time I ordered some Clarins products, however I have also purchased and used this in the past. Serums are big news at the moment, offering to give your skin that extra moisture or radiance boost. This one aims to help your skin restore lost moisture, keeping it moisturised, comfortable and plump.   A couple of weeks before Christmas I was in bed with a virus for a few days, and without my normal skincare regime my skin felt dry and tight. After 4-5 days of applying HydraQuench Intensive Serum Bi-Phase before bed at night, followed by my regular moisturiser, my skin was back to normal. The serum should be applied once a day, either morning or night, to cleansed skin, then followed up with your...

Clarins – HydraQuench Cream-Mask

Clarins – HydraQuench Cream-Mask

If you are a regular reader of Beauty Best Friend you will know that I am a big fan of Clarins skincare and I am a regular user of their HydraQuench Lotion which I reviewed here. So when I was sent this HydraQuench Cream-Mask* to try out I was very excited. The ingredients include Hyaluronic acid which helps to restore the skin’s water reserves and Katafray extract which also helps dehydrated skin to hold on to moisture. Firstly I must apologise for the quality of the photographs that I have taken of this product, the pearlescent shimmery finish of the blue tube reflects the light and has made it very difficult for me to take a clear photo of the tube! Clarins HydraQuench Cream-Mask is a thick, creamy, white non-drying mask which aims to add moisture to dehydrated or dry skins. It has a mild scent reminiscent of old-fashioned moisturisers or lotions like Astral. The mask should be applied to the face with the fingertips and then left on...

Clarins – Hydraquench Lotion

Clarins – Hydraquench Lotion

Here at Beauty Best Friend Headquarters, near York, the weather has really started to warm up over these past couple of days and a sunny Bank Holiday is forecast for a change. So here’s a quick post about one of my favourite moisturising lotions that contains SPF15 – a must for those sunny days to help prevent premature ageing in the sun. This is Clarins HydraQuench Lotion (yes, I know, it’s ANOTHER Clarins product!) and it is suitable for combination skin ‘or hot climates’… well we certainly don’t live in a hot climate, but I do have combination skin, and it is a nice light lotion that I use most mornings and always when it is forecast to be sunny as it contains both UVA and UVB sunscreens. I often have trouble finding moisturisers that are suitable for my combination skin – they are either too oily and creamy for my oily chin and nose, or too light to quench my dry forehead and cheeks. But this one works perfectly. The...
