Miners – Tin O’Tint Strawberry

Miners – Tin O’Tint Strawberry

When I think of the brand Miners it reminds me of the very first eyeshadow palette I had as a little girl (a cast-off from my Mum!), it was a pale blue duo and I used it when I was dressing up. Fast forward many years and I had pretty much forgotten about the brand, but they’re starting to make a come back. I was sent this cute little Miners Tin O’Tint Strawberry* to try out, it’s a tinted lip balm and I just love the little round tin and it will be great for keeping earrings in when the lip balm is finished. The first thing that struck me with this product is the lovely strong strawberry scent (I’m a sucker for anything fruity). This Miners Tin O’Tint does have quite a strong red tint which is great, I often find that other tinted lip balms don’t actually have much colour to them. You can build up the colour on your lips by applying more of the lip...

Thea – Face Renew Skin Brightening System

Thea – Face Renew Skin Brightening System

I was recently sent a sample of Face Renew Fruit Enzyme Creme Cleanser and Creme Moisturiser from organic skincare brand Thea, these are from their Skin Brightening System range which aims to brighten and revive dull skin using a blend of fruit enzyme extracts. The fruit enzymes gently exfoliate the skin without the need for exfoliating scrubs or other harsh products. The samples I got to try were quite small, just 15ml each. Both of the products are a thick off-white cream with a strong lemony scent – they felt a bit like rubbing lemon cheesecake over your face! I love the citrusy scent but it might not be for you if you’re not keen on strongly perfumed products. The Face Renew Fruit Enzyme Creme Cleanser removes foundation and other face make-up quite well, but isn’t so good at removing eye make-up so I did have to use a make-up remover first. The Face Renew Fruit Enzyme Creme Moisturiser feels quite rich on the skin, and whilst I have...

Treacle Moon – Her Mango Thoughts Bath & Shower Gel

Treacle Moon – Her Mango Thoughts Bath & Shower Gel

If you’re a regular reader of Beauty Best Friend then you might have seen my review last week of Treaclemoon My Coconut Island Body Butter – a great budget body moisturiser that smells even better than The Body Shop butters! Well today I’ve got another Treaclemoon product to review for you, it’s Her Mango Thoughts Bath and Shower Gel*. And I’ll give you a warning… this one smells good enough to eat!! I love the little inspirational quotes that Treaclemoon products have on their packaging, they’re really uplifting and make the bottles and tubs stand out from the other body care products that you see on the shelves, particularly when you’re doing your shopping at Tesco supermarket which is where you can pick up this fruity shower gel from. Her Mango Thoughts has the most beautiful, tempting mango scent – it even makes the shower smell of mango after you’ve used it! It lathers really nicely with lots of bubbles (we have hard water where we live too, so...

Grace Cole – Fruit Works Pineapple & Passion Fruit Lip Balm

Grace Cole – Fruit Works Pineapple & Passion Fruit Lip Balm

I was recently contacted by bodycare brand Grace Cole to see if I would review some of their products. You might think you’ve never heard of Grace Cole but chances are you will be familiar with some of their ranges and products – high end Boutique range, fun fruity Fruit Works range or the pretty Glitter Fairies range for little girls. I was sent this cute little Pineapple & Passion Fruit Lip Balm* from the Fruit Works range, I just love the little tin and it will be great for keeping little jewels and trinkets in when the lip balm is finished. The first thing that struck me with this product is the lovely fruity scent (I’m a sucker for anything fruity). It’s not a strong overpowering fragrance, it’s quite subtle and gentle, but it smells tropical and Summery just like a can of fizzy Lilt (do they even make Lilt any more?). The texture of the Pineapple and Passion Fruit Lip Balm is quite buttery and you do...
