Emite – Micronized Eyeshadow in Spread Your Nectar

Emite – Micronized Eyeshadow in Spread Your Nectar

I received this Micronized Eyeshadow in Spread Your Nectar in my November Glossybox, but it’s just taken me a while to get round to reviewing it. It’s from Swedish brand Emite, and I’ve already reviewed their Professional Eyelash Curler here. I was initially a bit disappointed with it when I received it as the perspex window in the lid is a bit loose, although this doesn’t have a negative effect on the make-up itself. Micronized Eyeshadow is free from oil, nickel, paraben and perfume, neither is it tested on animals. Emite suggest it as an excellent choice for lens wearers or those with sensitive eyes. I’ve been doing some research into what ‘micronized’ actually means, it’s to do with the way that the particles are ground down to make the eyeshadow powder, and basically the particles in this eyeshadow have been ground down much more than particles in other eyeshadows. This means that the Micronized Eyeshadow applies smoothly to ‘create an even and fine result’. Spread Your Nectar is...

Glossybox – November 2013

Glossybox – November 2013

The theme of this month’s Glossybox is ‘The Glossy Wishlist’, I think the idea is that these are products you might want to add to your Christmas list (although if you’ve just received them in your Glossybox then there’s no need!). There are four full-sized products this month which is great, although in my opinion the choices aren’t particularly luxurious, and another Glossybox magazine too… So, now onto the products…. The first product is a full-sized Cocoa & Pistachio Nut Hand Cream from Yves Rocher. I tried this out as soon as I opened my Glossybox and it has a lovely rich, creamy scent perfect for Winter. It’s pretty much a budget product though and is priced at £1.95 for a 75ml tube. The next product is a full-sized tube of Dry Skin Exfoliator from footcare specialists Scholl. I’m not generally into footcare products and this certainly isn’t the luxurious sort of beauty product I would be adding to my Christmas list! I would have perhaps expected to see...

Emite – Professional Eyelash Curler

Emite – Professional Eyelash Curler

I have to admit that I have never tended to use eyelash curlers on a regular basis as I have never really seen much benefit from them, I prefer to use mascara to define and curl my lashes. This Professional Eyelash Curler arrived in my August Glossybox and I had already read some good reviews of it, so I was looking forward to trying it out. The curler has been designed so that it doesn’t touch your make-up base whilst you are using it, and it came with 3 spare red pads which is really great – this tool should last me a very long time. I think the design and the colours of this tool make it look really stylish too. I do find that this Professional Eyelash Curler is easy to use, but occasionally the edges do touch my eye make-up whilst I am using it. Also, it is made of metal so it does feel very cold when it touches your skin. The red band is...

Glossybox – August 2013

Glossybox – August 2013

My August Glossybox arrived a couple of days ago. I’m sorry to say that the jury is still out on this one for me – the theme is ‘High Flyers’, and it’s a collection of products for the ‘girl on the go’ all sized at under 100ml so they can be stored in your hand luggage. I’m not too impressed at first glance, but my opinions may change once I have actually started testing out the products. The first item is a full-sized 15ml Tresemme Keratin Smooth 60 Second Treatment Shot which retails at £1.49. I have read good things about this treatment and while Tresemme isn’t a brand I would normally choose I am looking forward to trying this out. This Treatment Shot aims to smooth and hydrate the hair so in terms of the ‘High Flyers’ theme I would suggest this is probably a product that you would use BEFORE going on holiday, rather than taking it with you, although you may decide to use it whilst on...
