Docteur Renaud – Carrot Discovery Kit

Docteur Renaud – Carrot Discovery Kit

Earlier this year I reviewed the fabulous Carrot Scrub Detox from Docteur Renaud here on Beauty Best Friend blog. Docteur Renaud is a French natural cosmetology brand founded in 1947 and is now part of the Nuxe Group. The products all contain active ingredients taken from fruits, vegetables and flowers – some of which include raspberries, apricots, coconut and carrots. As I loved it so much I was recently sent this cute Carrot Discovery Kit* to try out as it contains two carrot moisturisers as well as the Carrot Scrub Detox. The kit, called ‘My Glowing Complexion Programme’, contains a 20ml tube of the Carrot Scrub Detox and mini 5ml samples of both Carrot Radiance Boost Day Cream and Carrot Renewing Night Cream, all nestled together inside a cardboard box decorated with carrots! I won’t go into full detail again about the Carrot Scrub Detox as you can read my full review here. I do have to say though that it’s a great exfoliator and it feels quite luxurious...

Docteur Renaud – Carrot Scrub Detox

Docteur Renaud – Carrot Scrub Detox

Docteur Renaud is a French natural cosmetology brand founded in 1947, it is now part of the Nuxe Group. The products all contain active ingredients taken from fruits, vegetables and flowers – some of which include raspberries, apricots, coconut and carrots. This New Year I’ve been concentrating on my skincare and the product that I have been trying out is Carrot Detox Scrub*, a paraben-free exfoliating cream that harnesses the power of fresh carrot cells which help to revive the radiance of the complexion. Other ingredients include white clay, jojoba beads and bamboo powder. Anything with ‘detox’ in its name has to be good for New Year, right? I have been using Carrot Scrub Detox once a week. I had imagined the product would be orange in colour given that one of the main ingredients is carrot, but it’s actually white with tiny orange exfoliating grains in it and it has a pleasant sweet vegetable-y scent. It’s quite creamy and soft but the grains do feel quite abrasive on the...

My 3 favourite….. Lipcare Products

My 3 favourite….. Lipcare Products

This is the second in my occasional feature ‘My 3 favourite…..’ in which I choose my 3 favourite products from a particular category. Today I will be discussing my 3 favourite lipcare products and explaining why I like them so much. I’m a bit of a sucker for lip balms, particularly if they’re in cute packaging, but they don’t always live up to their claims so I have picked 3 lipcare products that actually work and have different benefits for the lips. The first lipcare product that really makes the grade is Lip Glow Color Reviver Balm from Dior. I’ve been using this for a couple of years now and absolutely love it! It’s sort of a cross between a lip balm and a lipstick – it has been designed to enhance the lips’ natural colour, and it reacts with your lips’ own ‘chemistry’ to make lips look pinker, fuller and radiant. The pale pink balm looks pretty much clear when you apply it to your lips, but after...

Dr. Lipp – Original Nipple Balm For Lips

Dr. Lipp – Original Nipple Balm For Lips

Firstly, I just have to say that I hate the name of this product! It was originally formulated for breastfeeding women, which is where the name comes from, and contains 100% natural ingredients including lanolin. Original Nipple Balm For Lips probably isn’t a product that I would have purchased myself, it arrived in my September Glossybox, but I love natural products and I like the stylish grey and pink packaging so I was looking forward to trying it out. This product is the very definition of ‘multi-tasking’ – not only can it be used on lips (and nipples!) but also on dry skin, cuticles and sunburn. It can also be used with your make-up, to add gloss to the eyelids, highlight cheek bones or neaten eyebrows. You can see from the image above (apologies for the chipped paint job on the thumbnail!) how thick this balm is, I would describe it as more of a thick wax, and you only need a tiny bit for the lips. Personally I...
