Does Vichy Dermablend cover all flaws?

Does Vichy Dermablend cover all flaws?

As a beauty blogger one of the things that I get asked most is ‘can you recommend a good foundation?’. Women want lots of benefits from a foundation, but the main requirement is that it evens out the skin tone and covers any marks or blemishes. Some people are lucky enough to have fairly clear skin, and can make do with a tinted moisturiser or light foundation, whereas others have blemishes, acne, birthmarks, scars and other marks that need more coverage. Vichy Dermablend is a range of base make-up developed to cover all complexion flaws. I have been testing out the Fluid Corrective Foundation 16hr* and the Corrective Stick 14hr*, both in the palest Opal shade to see if they live up to Vichy’s claims. I have combination skin that is prone to a lot of blemishes, plus I have a few pale acne scars and uneven skintone on my cheeks from when I was a teenager, and some darker pigmentation marks around my eyes. None of these issues...

Beautiful Movements – Concealer Powder

Beautiful Movements – Concealer Powder

Now I must admit that I have actually reviewed this product – Mineral Concealer Powder from Beautiful Movements – before, but that was in conjunction with their Prime & Create Mixing Medium and I didn’t get on with it too well back then in 2013. Fast forward 2 years and I now use this concealer most days, albeit in a different lighter shade and on its own without the Mixing Medium. Beautiful Movements used to be known as BM Beauty and one of their co-founders is stunning ex-Pussycat Doll Kimberley Wyatt. Beautiful Movements are a natural cosmetic brand and their products are free from parabens, animal products, synthetic dyes & fragrances, neither are they tested on animals. Mineral Concealer Powder is exactly that, a powder concealer made from minerals, but despite being a powder it blends really well and takes on a slightly creamy consistency once it settles on the skin. It comes in a little pot with a sieve inserted inside the top which is a welcome addition to...

Beautiful Movements – Prime & Create Mixing Medium and Concealer Powder

Beautiful Movements – Prime & Create Mixing Medium and Concealer Powder

I first came across Beautiful Movements cosmetics when I received a small sample of their Prime & Create Mixing Medium in my May Glossybox. After doing a bit of research on the brand I found that they used to be known as BM Beauty and that one of their co-founders is stunning ex-Pussycat Doll Kimberley Wyatt. Beautiful Movements are a natural cosmetic brand and their products are free from parabens, animal products, synthetic dyes & fragrances, neither are they tested on animals. Within this post I am reviewing two products – Prime & Create Mixing Medium* and Concealer Powder in shade ‘Be Gone’*. Prime & Create Mixing Medium is a fairly new product and it has 2 main uses – it can be used as a primer to help make-up stay put, or used as a mixing medium to blend with Beautiful Movements range of mineral make-up powders. It can be mixed with mineral and concealer powders for matte finish maximum coverage, with powder blushers and bronzers to create...

Benefit – Realness of Concealness

Benefit – Realness of Concealness

I just LOVE Benefit’s make-up kits, and Realness of Concealness is my favourite as it’s so dinky and cute and will fit easily in the pocket of a handbag. It contains five of Benefit’s most popular products: High Beam – enhances the complexion with a luminescent shine Lip Plump – primes and enhances lips Ooh La Lift – de-puffs and firms the under-eye area Lemon Aid – primes eyelids to hide discolouration Boi-ing – conceals dark circles and blemishes High Beam is one of Benefit’s bestsellers and it’s easy to see why. This satiny pink liquid highlighter can be used all over the face for a radiant glow, or just as a spot highlighter on cheekbones. See the swatch image below – I haven’t rubbed it in too much so you can clearly see the shimmer. I use this all the time, it’s lovely in Summer, and if you have a great complexion you can just wear a little High Beam on it’s own on your cheeks for a lovely Summery...

Mac – Studio Finish Concealer SPF 35

Mac – Studio Finish Concealer SPF 35

I have recently been trialling Studio Finish Concealer SPF 35 from Mac, for use under my eyes. I don’t have dark circles as such, but I do get patches of  uneven pigmentation just below my eyes and above my cheekbones which gets worse when I have been in the sun. I always wear a moisturiser with SPF during the day which does help to stop these patches from getting darker, but it doesn’t completely prevent them, so I like to use a concealer to help cover up the patches. This concealer is available in 15 shades, I chose shade NC20 which is one of the paler ones. I do prefer thick pressed concealers to the thinner more runny ones as I find it easier to get a good coverage. I gently press it onto my under-eye area using my ring finger, and then blend gently. I find that this Studio Finish Concealer SPF 35 gives a really good finish and lasts all day without creasing. I have tried it to...
