Is Sebamed Clear Face skincare the answer for acne?

Is Sebamed Clear Face skincare the answer for acne?

I’d never heard of Sebamed when I was approached by them to see if I would try out some of their products. Their Clear Face collection is a range of products developed for acne prone skin, it reminds me of the sort of thing I would have used back when I was a teenager when there seemed to be loads of this sort of thing around (anyone remember Biactol!?). I was sent a Sebamed Clear Face 3-step skincare regime to try, consisting of Cleansing Bar, Deep Cleansing Facial Toner and Care Gel and I was asked to use them for a month to see what effect they had on my skin. I have combination skin with an oily chin and nose, and I am very prone to spots particularly on my chin, along my jawline and just under my cheekbones. The Clear Face range has been developed to restore skin’s pH level to 5.5 – that of a healthy skin. Sebamed Clear Face Cleansing Bar – I just LOVE a...

My 3 favourite….. Face Masks

My 3 favourite….. Face Masks

This is the first in a new feature that I will be doing occasionally, looking at my favourite products. Today I will be discussing my 3 favourite face masks and explaining why I like them so much. There are so many face masks out there – drying clay masks, moisturising cream masks, clarifying gel masks – it’s sometimes difficult to know where to start, so I have picked 3 products that are all great at doing different things for your skin. The first face mask that really makes the grade is Clear Improvement from Origins. I first tried this out last Summer when I received a free sample of it, and I couldn’t believe it had taken me so long to find it. I now make sure I always have a full size tube of this clay mask in my bathroom cabinet. Clear Improvement is a thick black-coloured active charcoal face mask that helps to clear the pores. It dries extremely hard on the skin which can be a bit...

Jacava – Nail Polish in Toffee Apple and Top Coat

Jacava – Nail Polish in Toffee Apple and Top Coat

I was recently introduced to Jacava Nail Polish, a new development in UK nail colour, these nail polishes are ‘8-free’ and non-toxic. Jacava Nail Polish does not contain any of the top 8 worrying chemicals found in regular nail polish – including Formaldehyde, Camphor, Toluene, DBP, Cellophane, Phthalates or Animal Ingredients, plus they are vegan-friendly and have undergone no animal testing. I chose to review Jacava Nail Polish in Toffee Apple* plus the clear Top Coat*. I chose Toffee Apple as it looked like a nice Autumn-y brown colour, however when it arrived I found it is more of a dark red colour, but it’s still lovely. It’s not as dark as Chanel’s popular Rouge Noir, but is probably more of an everyday wearable dark red colour. I have been wearing Toffee Apple on both my finger nails and my toes, the consistency of the polish is fairly liquid but this makes it nice and easy to apply and to get an even coat. I thought that this nail...

Origins – Starting Over & Clear Improvement

Origins – Starting Over & Clear Improvement

The last time I ordered online from Origins I received these 2 free samples of Starting Over Age-Erasing Moisturiser and Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask. Origins are really good like that and often offer free samples or free delivery if you spend over a certain amount, and these little mini-replica tubes are the perfect size to stash in an overnight bag or suitcase when you are going away. The Starting Over moisturiser is a thick white cream with a floral scent. The scent is a little bit strong for my liking but it isn’t unpleasant. The ingredients include Mimosa, Argan Leaf Extract and Green Algae and the product aims to improve the appearance of lines and wrinkles. Starting Over can be used morning and evening but I have just been using it in the evening as it doesn’t contain an SPF. It is actually a great moisturiser to apply at night as it is very thick and moisturising and gives your skin a real moisture boost while you are...
