Moogoo – Oil Cleansing Method

Moogoo – Oil Cleansing Method

Apologies again that it’s been a while since I last posted. You may recall that I’d been helping out a local charity with their website? Well that is all completed now but I’ve had some other family stuff going on and with looking after my baby daughter spare time for blogging is pretty scarce at the moment. I haven’t lost my enthusiasm though and am busy planning all sorts of new posts for the future, so watch this space! Today I wanted to tell you all about a fantastic natural brand, Moogoo. Regular readers of Beauty Best Friend may recall that I reviewed their Full Cream Moisturiser last year, but having received this Oil Cleansing Method* cleanser in a goody bag from a blogger event a couple of months ago it fired up my love for them all over again! MooGoo is an Australian natural skincare brand that was first created when the founder adapted a cream used in dairy farms to help a family member with a skin...

GIVEAWAY – Pink&Green Organic Facial Cleansing Oil

GIVEAWAY – Pink&Green Organic Facial Cleansing Oil

THE GIVEAWAY HAS NOW ENDED. A couple of weeks ago I reviewed the October Blogger Beauty Box and included inside it was a small bottle of Pink&Green Organic Facial Cleansing Oil. It was my favourite item from the box, and following my review Carol Aplin, founder of Pink&Green, got in touch to thank me and to offer a full size 10ml bottle of Organic Facial Cleansing Oil and muslin cloth as a giveaway for one of my readers. This is a fab skincare product that won the ‘Best Facial Cleanser’ prize in the Janey Loves Platinum Awards 2015 competition for natural and organic skincare products. It’s 100% organic made from peach kernel, sweet orange, and lavender essential oils and it smells gently floral. Whilst a 10ml bottle might not sound very much you actually only need around 3 drops to cleanse the whole face, so if you cleanse twice a day, morning and night, it should last for 6 weeks. After applying the 3 drops to the fingertips the...

Micellar Water – should you believe the hype?

Micellar Water – should you believe the hype?

I feel like I’m the last blogger on earth to review a Micellar Water cleanser, reviews of this type of product were all the rage a few months ago but I thought I would wait for the hype to die down before trying it out for myself. I received this 125ml bottle of Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water in my July ‘My Little Box’ and was excited to see if it lived up to all of the great reviews that I’d seen. ‘Micellar’ is pronounced ‘my cellar’ and it refers to the chemical structure of the product which contains clusters of microscopic oil molecules called ‘micelles’ that attract dirt and grease. The best way to use the product is to apply some to a cotton wool pad then sweep it across the face to remove make-up and dirt, although if you are wearing full make-up you’ll probably need to go through 4 or 5 cotton wool pads to completely clean your face. The thing that I love about this Micellar...

KOREAN BEAUTY Daeng Gi Meo – Ri Ja Dam Hwa Scalp & Hair Cleansing Treatment

KOREAN BEAUTY Daeng Gi Meo – Ri Ja Dam Hwa Scalp & Hair Cleansing Treatment

I am currently taking part in an initiative working with BNT News International, a global beauty/fashion/lifestyle and entertainment source based in Seoul, South Korea. I am helping BNT to promote a selection of new and exciting Korean beauty products to a UK audience, these are products that you probably won’t have seen before and some of them are really different and unique. My second Korean beauty post went live last Friday when I reviewed Lips In Love lip paint from Forencos. The product that I am reviewing today has possibly the longest name of anything I’ve ever tested! It’s Ja Dam Hwa Scalp & Hair Cleansing Treatment from Daeng Gi Meo Ri. Now firstly I have to admit that I’ve found it a bit of a struggle to review this product, all of the directions and ingredients on the box and tube are in Korean so I had to do a bit of investigation on the internet to find out how to use the treatment! Basically it’s a herbal treatment for...

Is Sebamed Clear Face skincare the answer for acne?

Is Sebamed Clear Face skincare the answer for acne?

I’d never heard of Sebamed when I was approached by them to see if I would try out some of their products. Their Clear Face collection is a range of products developed for acne prone skin, it reminds me of the sort of thing I would have used back when I was a teenager when there seemed to be loads of this sort of thing around (anyone remember Biactol!?). I was sent a Sebamed Clear Face 3-step skincare regime to try, consisting of Cleansing Bar, Deep Cleansing Facial Toner and Care Gel and I was asked to use them for a month to see what effect they had on my skin. I have combination skin with an oily chin and nose, and I am very prone to spots particularly on my chin, along my jawline and just under my cheekbones. The Clear Face range has been developed to restore skin’s pH level to 5.5 – that of a healthy skin. Sebamed Clear Face Cleansing Bar – I just LOVE a...

Magnitone – Lucid Cleansing Brush & Discount Code

Magnitone – Lucid Cleansing Brush & Discount Code

Cleansing brushes are really popular at the moment, and one of the leading brands is Magnitone. I was sent this pink Lucid Daily Cleansing & Exfoliation Brush* to try out and see how the Magnitone 7-Day Challenge worked for me! The Magnitone Lucid brush is designed to deep cleanse your skin in just 1 minute a day, by using Active Electromagnetic Technology™ whereby tiny pulsations send vibrations into the skin helping to unclog pores, remove dead skin cells and generally improve the skin. The Magnitone Lucid comes conveniently packaged in a box with everything you need to get started, the packaging is so well designed. There’s a handy travel charger (plus a two-pin adapter if you need it for travelling abroad) and an instruction leaflet. As if by magic the charger cleverly attaches to the brush via a magnet so there’s no hole or plug where water can get in. The battery lasts for ages too, I’ve been using the brush for over a week now and haven’t needed...

Dibi Milano – Pure Perfection Sebo-Balance Cream & Cleansing Gel

Dibi Milano – Pure Perfection Sebo-Balance Cream & Cleansing Gel

I’d never heard of Dibi Milano before a couple of weeks ago, but I have a feeling they’re going to be big news over the coming months. It’s one of Italy’s best-selling skincare brands and they’ve recently launched here in the UK. Their products are split into seven product lines, each one targeting a specific skin issue including sensitive skin, dull skin and wrinkles. I was sent two products from the Pure Perfection range, aimed at oily and problem skin, which help to balance the production of sebum (oil) and fight bacterial growth. Pure Perfection Sebo-Balance Cleansing Gel* – this is a translucent pale golden cleansing gel that you can use morning and night to cleanse the skin. I found it a bit strange because you expect it to foam when you apply it but it doesn’t, it works a bit more like a cream cleanser in that you massage it into the skin then rinse it off with warm water. The bottle is very rigid and I found...

Why you shouldn’t be afraid of using oils on your skin

Why you shouldn’t be afraid of using oils on your skin

The skincare shelves are full of oils these days…. oils for cleansing, oils for moisturising, oils to be used as serums…. but a lot of people are still a bit scared of using an oil product on their skin, particularly if they have oily skin as they believe that these products will exacerbate the problem. I have combination skin, with a very oily nose and chin and dry, flaky forehead and cheeks, and have been using oil products on my skin for around 2 years now with great results. When I was younger I was very scared of using rich moisturisers and oils on my chin, convinced they would make the oiliness worse and cause spots. As a result I often didn’t apply enough moisturiser and the oiliness started to get worse – this was my skin over-compensating for the lack of moisture I was giving it. Now I understand a lot better how the skin works and I am able to treat it much more kindly. Firstly I...
