The Body Shop – Rainforest Balance Shampoo & Rainforest Moisture Hair Butter

The Body Shop – Rainforest Balance Shampoo & Rainforest Moisture Hair Butter

You may have already read that I have recently made the move to using natural shampoo and conditioner, following a problem with an itchy scalp (read about that here). I was interested to find out what other natural shampoos and conditioners were out there, and came across the Rainforest haircare collection from The Body Shop®. As this is such an affordable range I thought I would try it out, and none of the Rainforest range contains any silicones, colourants or parabens which can irritate the scalp. Rainforest Balance Shampoo is for oily hair, so I chose this as I have found that that my hair and scalp have been more oily since I started using natural shampoos as they don’t strip the oil from your hair like regular shampoos. This shampoo contains a number of natural ingredients including pracaxi oil, white nettle and seaweed plus Community Trade sugar and aloe vera. The thick, clear shampoo gives an ok lather on the first application – better than a lot of natural...

Philosophy – Footnotes & Soul Owner Footcare Duo

Philosophy – Footnotes & Soul Owner Footcare Duo

Summer is the time when we all bare our feet – whether it’s walking barefoot along the beach, kicking off your shoes in the back garden, or just wearing a new pair of sandals. So what better time to review this fab duo of foot products from Philosophy! I have been using these for a week or so now, and they are perfect for getting your feet into tip-top condition and ready for those flip flops. Philosophy Footnotes* is an Energizing Foot Scrub – the tube contains a green exfoliator of thick jelly-like consistency which contains a really good concentration of pumice exfoliating grains. It contains eucalyptus and lavender and has a fresh menthol minty fragrance – peppermint is well known for treating feet, providing a refreshing and cooling sensation. A generous amount of the Footnotes scrub should be applied to damp feet and then massaged in circular motions all over the feet for a few minutes. The scrub froths a little when water is added and feels energizing...

The Body Shop – Pink Grapefruit Body Butter

The Body Shop – Pink Grapefruit Body Butter

I’ve just rediscovered The Body Shop Body Butter in Pink Grapefruit – and what better scent for Summer than this fruity lovely? I love the body butters from The Body Shop, and they come in such great flavours, you can read my review of the coconut one here. The Body Shop’s body butters are rich and creamy and they really moisturise the skin. If I use a normal moisturising lotion I just don’t feel like my skin is getting enough of a treat, so this Pink Grapefruit Body Butter really does the trick. I rub it in to my skin after a bath and it keeps my skin moisturised for a good couple of days. I used it on the morning of my wedding too, so the fragrance always takes me back to that day. Other Summery flavours of The Body Shop Body Butter include mango and satsuma (this complements their Satsuma Shower Gel). Next on my list to try is the raspberry one. Priced at £13 for 200ml,...

The Body Shop – Coconut Body Butter

The Body Shop – Coconut Body Butter

Well, the nice weather is finally here and it’s got me thinking about lazy days in the garden and fruity Summer fragrances. And what better scent for Summer than sweet coconut? It always make me think of a tropical beach! I love the body butters from The Body Shop, and they come in such great flavours, but my favourite is this coconut one. The Body Shop’s body butters are rich and creamy and they really moisturise the skin. If I use a normal moisturising lotion I just don’t feel like my skin is getting enough of a treat, so this Coconut Body Butter really does the trick. I rub it in to my skin after a bath and it keeps my skin moisturised for a good couple of days. Other Summery flavours of The Body Shop Body Butter include mango and Satsuma (this complements their Satsuma Shower Gel), and for Winter I love their cocoa and shea butter fragrances. Next on my list to try is the raspberry one....
