The Bobbi Brown Blush that suits EVERYONE!

The Bobbi Brown Blush that suits EVERYONE!

This Bobbi Brown pressed powder Blush in the shade Slopes was given to me by a friend who had bought it and then decided it wasn’t the right shade for her. I’ve been a huge Bobbi Brown make-up fan for a long time, I love the sleek black packaging and all of the products that I’ve tried have been of a really high quality. Bobbi Brown Blush is available in 17 shades, all of which are really wearable shades in pinks, reds and browns. The whole ethos of Bobbi Brown make-up is to enhance your natural beauty and to create a fairly natural look, so nothing in the collection is too out-there or bright. Slopes is a lovely natural dusky rose pink colour that gives a natural flush to the cheeks. The Bobbi Brown make-up philosophy is all around enhancing what you already have and bringing out your natural beauty, and this pressed powder blush does that perfectly. The colour is quite subtle and you will need to build...

Sleek – Blush By 3 In Pink Lemonade

Sleek – Blush By 3 In Pink Lemonade

I’m such a big fan of Sleek make-up, their black palettes are stylish yet affordable and most of the products are readily available at good Superdrug stores. When I saw that they had brought out this new Blush By 3 palette in Pink Lemonade I just had to have it as I was running low on good blush colours and these ones looked really natural and suitable for paler skins. Sleek’s Blush By 3 is a palette that contains 3 different rectangular blush colours, in the case of this Pink Lemonade palette the two outer blushes are pressed powder and the centre one is a cream blush. I wasn’t too sure what to expect from the cream blush really as I generally use powder blushes, plus I have found in the past that if you mix cream and powder products in one palette you tend to end up with loose powder granules stuck in the cream products (anyone remember those huge cheap multi-palettes that Argos used to do?). I...

Paul & Joe Beaute – Cheek Color & Compact Case

Paul & Joe Beaute – Cheek Color & Compact Case

I do love make-up that looks beautiful in its packaging, and there is no brand more pretty that Paul & Joe Beaute. Their limited edition feline and floral packaging is second to none with many pieces being so beautiful that you just want to admire them and almost don’t want to use them. A couple of weeks ago I treated myself to Cheek Color 10 (Ombrage) and the Spring 2014 Collection Kitten Print Compact Case (number 002). Shade 10 was the most natural of the Cheek Colors that I could find, it is a pressed powder blusher that consists of a large rose-pink section and a thinner tan colour strip. I love the fact that the pressed powder has the Paul & Joe ‘PJ’ logo imprinted into it, I think it makes it looks really classy. You can see the Cheek Color shades really clearly from the close-up image above. The tan strip of colour has a feint shimmer to it, you can see the glittery particles shining. The...

Etude House – Lovely Cookie Blusher in Grapefruit Jelly

Etude House – Lovely Cookie Blusher in Grapefruit Jelly

Today I want to share with you a really lovely make-up product from South Korea, this is Lovely Cookie Blusher from Asian brand Etude House. I’m a big fan of Asian make-up, there’s some really cute and pretty packaging out there (as well as some really bizarre products too!) and it’s fairly easy to buy products from Ebay and similar websites. I think that this product is called Lovely Cookie Blusher as it looks like a cute little fat cookie! The packaging is simply divine and includes a dainty little powder puff inside, with a pink ribbon, to gently apply the blush – although I do have to say I prefer to use a blusher brush! I chose the Grapefruit Jelly shade which is a pretty peachy-pink colour, perfect for those with a pale complexion. I think there are 9 shades available, all named after sweet desserts – Carrot Cheesecake anyone? You can see from the swatch image above that the coverage is quite matt and powdery and the...

MeMeMe – Cherub’s Blush Cheek & Lip Tint

MeMeMe – Cherub’s Blush Cheek & Lip Tint

This full-size 12ml bottle of Cherub’s Blush Cheek & Lip Tint from Me Me Me Cosmetics came in my October Glossybox. I’m not one to use liquid tints generally, although I have used Benefit’s popular Bene-tint on occasions, but I was wondering if this product could convert me. Cherub’s Blush is a dark red liquid contained within a little bottle – it looks a bit like a nail varnish bottle and it has a brush attached inside the lid just like a nail varnish bottle too. The liquid tint can be used on both lips and cheeks to give a rosy tint, just by applying a dab with the brush and then blending it with the fingers. The swatch image below shows how the tint looks when it is first applied, and then after it has been blended. The first thing I noticed about this product after taking the swatch images is that it REALLY stains the fingers! This put me off Cherub’s Blush a lot – who wants...

MUA Blusher – Shade 2

MUA Blusher – Shade 2

Up until about 3 months ago I had always been a bit of a beauty snob and thought that you got what you paid for with make-up, and that all of the new budget beauty brands that are emerging couldn’t have been any good. But there is a brand that has now changed my mind, and that is MUA. Available online and from Superdrug, MUA (short for Makeup Academy) offers a huge range of budget make-up which starts from just £1…. yes, you read that correctly, just £1! So today I am reviewing MUA Blusher in Shade 2, could it be the best-value blusher in the world?! MUA Blusher in Shade 2 is a peach-coloured pressed powder blusher in a small rectangular compact. I don’t normally go for peach or orange based blushers, usually sticking to more bluey-pinks, but I thought it might be nice for the Summer months to wear when I have a tan. The colour applies quite sparingly to the cheeks and you need to apply several layers...

Benefit – Sugarlicious Lip & Cheek Kit

Benefit – Sugarlicious Lip & Cheek Kit

I’m a sucker for a make-up kit and I just ADORE Benefit’s make-up box collections. This one is Sugarlicious Lip & Cheek Kit and it’s one of my favourites. It contains five of Benefit’s most popular products: High Beam – enhances the complexion with a luminescent shine Benetint – a ‘sexy flush in a bottle’ for lips and cheeks Sugarbomb powder and brush – creates a natural radiance for cheeks Sugarbomb Ultra Plush – a luxurious and silky lip gloss High Beam is one of Benefit’s bestsellers and it’s easy to see why. This satiny pink liquid highlighter can be used all over the face for a radiant glow, or just as a spot highlighter on cheekbones. See the swatch image below – I haven’t rubbed it in too much so you can clearly see the shimmer. I use this all the time, it’s lovely in Summer, and if you have a great complexion you can just wear a little High Beam on it’s own on your cheeks for a...
