Botanicals – Orange Blossom Body Balm

Botanicals – Orange Blossom Body Balm

If you’re a regular reader of Beauty Best Friend then you’ll know that one of my favourite skincare brands is Botanicals. All of Botanicals’ products are blended by hand in rural England and contain no no petrochemicals or synthetic additives. Botanicals say their aim is ‘to provide a range of personal care products which are as close to nature as possible’ and their products are approved by the Soil Association, are suitable for vegans and are never tested on animals. I’ve tried a few of their facial skincare products over the past year and been really impressed with all of them, for example Nourishing Face Balm is a great natural moisturiser. Orange Blossom Body Balm is the first bodycare product I’ve tried from Botanicals, it’s a conditioning and nourishing natural balm that helps soften the skin and supports the skin’s natural ability to heal and regenerate new skin cells. The ingredients include shea butter, cold pressed jojoba oil and a selection of natural essential oils. The full list of...

Pure & Light Organic – Essential Floral Toner Review

Pure & Light Organic – Essential Floral Toner Review

I hadn’t heard of Pure & Light Organic before I tried this product, so I’ve done a bit of research. The brand was set up by Agnes Donazy over a decade ago when she started to develop extreme skin sensitivity due to reactions to chemicals, so she decided to set up her own natural skincare brand. Pure & Light Organic products are 100% natural and non-toxic, and never contain unnecessary ingredients. I have been testing out Essential Floral Toner, it’s a natural liquid toner that contains orange blossom, geranium and rosemary. Essential Floral Toner is packaged in a tall, thin silver tube with a spray nozzle. I quite like the packaging it looks quite premium, and the box comes packaged inside a white branded cardboard box. Essential Floral Toner is suitable for most skin types, and it aims to promote skin moisture retention and calm and soothe the effects of irritation. I have been using it at night after cleansing my skin with Soap & Glory Peaches And Clean Cleanser,...

My 3 favourite….. Lipcare Products

My 3 favourite….. Lipcare Products

This is the second in my occasional feature ‘My 3 favourite…..’ in which I choose my 3 favourite products from a particular category. Today I will be discussing my 3 favourite lipcare products and explaining why I like them so much. I’m a bit of a sucker for lip balms, particularly if they’re in cute packaging, but they don’t always live up to their claims so I have picked 3 lipcare products that actually work and have different benefits for the lips. The first lipcare product that really makes the grade is Lip Glow Color Reviver Balm from Dior. I’ve been using this for a couple of years now and absolutely love it! It’s sort of a cross between a lip balm and a lipstick – it has been designed to enhance the lips’ natural colour, and it reacts with your lips’ own ‘chemistry’ to make lips look pinker, fuller and radiant. The pale pink balm looks pretty much clear when you apply it to your lips, but after...

Figs & Rouge – Cherry Blossom Tinted Lip Balm

Figs & Rouge – Cherry Blossom Tinted Lip Balm

This Cherry Blossom Tinted Lip Balm from Figs & Rouge was in my June Glossybox, and I was very excited to try it out. Figs & Rouge is a new UK beauty brand that uses 100% natural ingredients in its products, containing naturally occuring fatty acids and no petroleum or other nasties. I really like the retro packaging of Figs & Rouge products, the floral tube is really pretty and is crying out to be shown off! The logo printed on the tube was a bit blurred – I’m not sure if this is a design feature or if there had been a problem when printing on the tubes – but overall I really love the packaging and I won’t hesitate to bring this out of my handbag to show it off. I have never used a lip balm in a tube before, the ones I have used have been a lipstick-style bullet or in a little tin, so this was a new experience for me. The Cherry Blossom...

Burts Bees – Tinted Lip Balm

Burts Bees – Tinted Lip Balm

Another Burts Bees product review today – they are my current favourite natural cosmetics brand – and this is the second of two Burts Bees lip products that I have been testing out. You can read my first review on Burts Bees Lip Shimmer here. I think that Burts Bees are a great natural brand, striving to produce 100% natural beauty products and they also do a lot of work to help protect bees, given that a lot of their products contain beeswax. I have been using Burts Bees Tinted Lip Balm in Pink Blossom for the past week, wearing it at home when I haven’t been wearing lipstick and also using it in the evening just before I go to bed so my lips stay moisturised overnight. Firstly I love Burts Bees’ packaging and this product doesn’t disappoint. The Tinted Lip Balm comes packaged in a cardboard tube, making it feel a bit more special than your other everyday run-of-the-mill lip balms. I just loved popping open the cardboard tubing...
