NEW Brow Collection from Benefit

NEW Brow Collection from Benefit

Did you know… – we each spend £200 on average a year on products to groom our brows – there were 1.1 million brow products sold in the UK throughout 2015 – the two leading brow products are from Benefit – Benefit now run 1,100 brow bars across 46 different countries These were just some of the facts that I learned at the Leeds blogger launch of Benefit’s new brow range. I mean, I knew that brows were big business but I had no idea that brow products were selling on this scale. And that is the reason that Benefit have re-vamped and re-launched their brow range, offering a brow product for every one of us no matter what our colour or what sort of impact we want our brows to have. First up I want to tell you a little bit about the event. Benefit know how to throw a party, and they had invited around fifty Yorkshire bloggers to the White Cloth Gallery in Leeds. When we arrived we listened...

The Benefit High Beam dupe that’s UNDER £4

The Benefit High Beam dupe that’s UNDER £4

I really love discovering new products from budget beauty brand W7, they’re so affordable and yet they so often produce amazing dupes for cult beauty items from other brands. They’re really affordable too and they have a mahoosive range of products. Sadly W7 products are not often available in high street shops and it’s easy to miss out; the answer is to have the occasional trawl through Amazon to see what’s on offer from W7! I’ve found some amazing products from W7 over the last few years and they’re so affordable but still great quality. Night Glow is a liquid illuminating highlighter that comes in a small bottle that looks a bit like a nail varnish bottle. You can use it to highlight certain areas of the face, like the cheekbones, brow bone and cupid’s bow of the lips. I have found that the best way to apply it is to paint a few drops onto my fingers then dab and stipple the shimmery liquid all over the skin being careful not to...

Benefit – It’s Potent! Eye Cream

Benefit – It’s Potent! Eye Cream

I absolutely love Benefit make-up, I think they’ve got some great products – many of them with unique selling points – and I love their quirky packaging and tongue-in-cheek marketing. But up until recently I’d never tried their skincare range. My first foray was this It’s Potent! Eye Cream, which claims to fade dark circles and smooth fine lines. My little pot was a sample size that I received in a beauty box last year. The product itself is a scent-free pale caramel coloured light cream, it reminds me a bit of a caramel sauce or brandy butter! The ingredients include loquat extract, known to help protect the skin from free radical damage. I’ve been using It’s Potent! Eye Cream at night after moisturising since the end of November, just patting a little of the product under each eye using my ring finger. It does feel nice and moisturising on the under-eye area, but as you can see from the before and after images below I don’t really think it’s made...

Benefit – Ultra Plush Lip Gloss in A Lister

Benefit – Ultra Plush Lip Gloss in A Lister

I bought this Benefit Ultra Plush Lip Gloss on a bit of a whim at duty free last month, when I was travelling to Amsterdam. I always like to treat myself to a new lipstick whenever I travel on a plane, and as Leeds Bradford Airport is slightly limited in its choice of duty free make-up I quickly decided to go with this offering from Benefit. Ultra Plush Lip Glosses are quite a new product from Benefit and they’re available in 6 different sugary sweet shop shades, I chose A-Lister, a shimmery peach shade as I thought it would look great layered over a nude or a pink lipstick. It’s quite a gloopy, thick lip gloss, and it has a strong, sweet flavour/scent that is just like fruity ice cream! I love the art deco inspired cardboard packaging and the decadent moulded plastic lid, a lot of thought has gone into the Ultra Plush Lip Gloss packaging and it really stands out from other lip glosses. The little green ribbon...

Benefit – They’re Real Mascara

Benefit – They’re Real Mascara

Am I the only beauty blogger in the whole world who had never tried They’re Real mascara from Benefit? I’ve been reading so many great reviews of this mascara that I nearly jumped for joy when I received a mini 3g tube in my Editor’s Picks collection box from Latest In Beauty. They’re Real was the UK’s No 1 best-selling mascara in 2012 and has been designed to lengthen, curl, volumise, lift & separate lashes. I particularly like the brush, it’s really long which allows you to coat lots of lashes at once and is covered in tiny plastic ‘bristles’ (it’s a similar brush to my favourite Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara, but much longer). There are also bristles all over the end of the brush which allows you to hold the brush vertically and coat those hard-to-reach shorter lashes. I have been using They’re Real for about a week now. I have to say that the jet black mascara gives a really great finish on the lashes...

Latest In Beauty – Editor’s Picks Collection

Latest In Beauty – Editor’s Picks Collection

Last week I ordered the Editor’s Picks Collection box from Latest In Beauty and I’m so glad I did! I have to say it’s the best beauty box I’ve seen for a while, and I love the fact that you can see what’s inside it before you order it, unlike some other beauty box schemes. The Editor’s Picks Collection contains 10 items – some full size and some sample size – all hand-picked by Latest In Beauty to help make you look fabulous. Here is a closer look at my box… The products all come nestled on shredded tissue paper inside a nice simple black box with the Latest In Beauty logo printed on the lid. The box lid was a little bit squashed and marked when it arrived, and I have to say I don’t like the packaging as much as I like the way Glossybox package their items, but having said that it is all about the products inside. So, what was inside? The first item is...

Benefit – Sugarlicious Lip & Cheek Kit

Benefit – Sugarlicious Lip & Cheek Kit

I’m a sucker for a make-up kit and I just ADORE Benefit’s make-up box collections. This one is Sugarlicious Lip & Cheek Kit and it’s one of my favourites. It contains five of Benefit’s most popular products: High Beam – enhances the complexion with a luminescent shine Benetint – a ‘sexy flush in a bottle’ for lips and cheeks Sugarbomb powder and brush – creates a natural radiance for cheeks Sugarbomb Ultra Plush – a luxurious and silky lip gloss High Beam is one of Benefit’s bestsellers and it’s easy to see why. This satiny pink liquid highlighter can be used all over the face for a radiant glow, or just as a spot highlighter on cheekbones. See the swatch image below – I haven’t rubbed it in too much so you can clearly see the shimmer. I use this all the time, it’s lovely in Summer, and if you have a great complexion you can just wear a little High Beam on it’s own on your cheeks for a...

Benefit – Girl Meets Pearl

Benefit – Girl Meets Pearl

Benefit decsribes Girl Meets Pearl as ‘liquid pearl for the face’, it’s basically a liquid highlighter that can be used on cheeks or all over the face for a dewy glow. I love Benefit products, their packaging and product names are really quirky and they develop such innovative products, not to mention their amazing handbag-sized boxed collections of their best-sellers. Girl Meets Pearl can be worn on its own to give a delicate luminous pearlessence, or it can be worn over make-up for a subtle dewy glow. To dispense the product just remove the lid then twist the end of the tube and the product comes up through the little holes at the end of tube – then pat it gently onto your skin with your fingers. You should only dispense a little at a time as less is most definitely more with this product – you don’t want to end up with a face like a shiny oil slick! I like to wear Girl Meets Pearl over my...
