Is this the best budget highlighter ever?

Is this the best budget highlighter ever?

Highlighters have been my favourite product of 2016, and if there’s one product that I’ve wanted to try over all the rest it’s Vivid Baked Highlighter from Makeup Revolution. Makeup Revolution is the budget beauty brand that really made a splash when it was introduced a couple of years ago, and I’ve read so many amazing reviews of their pressed powder highlighter that costs just £3 that I couldn’t resist trying it. This is a real beauty bloggers favourite product, I haven’t met anyone that hasn’t liked it! There are 4 shades in the Vivid Baked Highlighter range, I opted for Golden Lights. It’s a multi-use baked highlighting powder in white lustre with a golden shimmer. Of course you can use it to light up the cheekbones, but it’s also great for using as an eyeshadow (just smudge a tad under the brow arch using the ring finger), highlighting collarbones or shoulders in Summer, dusting over the décolleté area or using sparingly for contouring to highlight temples, cheekbones, the tip...

I ♡ Makeup – Goddess Of Love

I ♡ Makeup – Goddess Of Love

If you’ve not heard of I ♡ Makeup before it’s the little sister of budget brand Makeup Revolution, and it’s just as reasonably priced. Just before Christmas I reviewed their heart-shaped I ♡ My Lips Lipstick in Rising Pulse which I really loved, so I decided it was about time I tried another of their heart-shaped offerings. This is Goddess Of Love Triple Baked Highlighter and I’ve wanted it ever since I first saw it online, I love the fact that it’s heart-shaped! To be honest there’s not too much to say about it… other than I love it! It’s a hard-baked powder highlighter, really pale and shimmery. It gives the skin a really lovely glow and it blends nicely. You do need to be careful you don’t apply too much at once otherwise you could end up looking a bit shiny – it’s always easier to add more of a product than to remove some! I’ve been using my Bobbi Brown Face Blender brush to apply Goddess Of...

e.l.f. – Baked Eyeshadows in Pixie & Dusk

e.l.f. – Baked Eyeshadows in Pixie & Dusk

It was only fairly recently that I discovered budget New York make-up brand e.l.f. (stands for Eyes Lips Face), but I like what I have seen so far and today I am reviewing their Baked Eyeshadows in Pixie and Dusk. These cute domed single eyeshadows have actually been baked in an oven to give them their blendable powder finish! e.l.f.’s nice, simple black and clear packaging suggests that the brand is more premium than it is, and each of these Baked Eyeshadows comes packaged in a cardboard box. The ingredients within the Baked Eyeshadows include Jojoba, Rose, Sunflower, Apricot and Grape to help nourish and hydrate the skin. I have been using these eyeshadows dry but they can also be used wet for a more intense, vibrant colour – just apply them with a damp eyeshadow brush. Pixie is a strong mid-pink colour shadow with a gold shimmery undertone, you can clearly see the shimmer on the close-up image above. Dusk is a very dark grey colour shadow with...
