How to lose the baby weight with Slendertoxtea

How to lose the baby weight with Slendertoxtea

It’s now almost a year since I gave birth to my fantastic baby daughter (where does that time go?) and despite my best intentions to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight as quickly as possible it got to the Summer and I was still a good few pounds above where I wanted to be. I had put on about two stone whilst I was pregnant and about half of that disappeared when I gave birth. I continued to drop another few pounds in the first few weeks of motherhood – partly from breastfeeding and partly from a nasty kidney infection which floored me for a couple of weeks – but then came Christmas and I couldn’t resist indulging, particularly in alcohol which I’d been avoiding for nine months! So a few pounds crept back on and then despite a few attempts in 2016 to eat healthily I hovered around the same weight, feeling stuck. I needed something to give me a bit of a push in the right direction...

Prevent stretch marks with Bepanthen

Prevent stretch marks with Bepanthen

So I’m currently seven months pregnant and despite feeling really fit and healthy and having no health issues I’m a bit worried about getting stretch marks. Stretch marks are streaks or lines that appear on the skin and they’re caused by rapid expansion of the skin when the middle layer of skin (dermis) breaks in places, allowing the deeper layers to show through. They start off as pink or purple lines and eventually fade to a silvery white colour, and they’re most common on the tummy, buttocks, breasts and thighs. Stretch marks are particularly common during pregnancy (about 8 out of 10 expectant mothers get some) usually appearing from month 6 onwards, but they can also appear after sudden weight loss or gain or during puberty – around 7 out of 10 girls and 4 out of 10 boys get them during puberty according to the NHS. The best prevention for stretch marks is to massage the at-risk areas daily with an oil or cream, this helps to nourish the skin...

miamoo – travel goodies

miamoo – travel goodies

Today I am reviewing a travel set of skincare goodies from miamoo, a natural skincare brand created by runner-up of the first ever Apprentice series, Saira Khan. Saira set up miamoo after years of suffering with extremely dry and sensitive skin, and all of the products in the range can be used by both adults and children. The miamoo range uses natural ingredients such as chamomile, orange flower water and cocoa butter – and there are no nasties, the full range is free of parabens, sulfates and other chemical nasties that can irritate the skin. This little kit of travel goodies* from miamoo contains 6 skincare products, plus a soft flannel, all gathered together in a clear pouch. The overall kit is quite small and would fit nicely in a suitcase without taking up much room. Each product is only very small (the bottles are 30ml and the pot is 10ml) and probably won’t last very long, but they’re enough for a week away and you can always refill...

MUA – Nail Polish in Natural Days

MUA – Nail Polish in Natural Days

My current favourite nail polish is this pale baby pink colour from MUA called Natural Days, it looks great on both fingers and toes! I bought it in my MUA haul a few weeks ago, and have been wearing it pretty much ever since! It dries with a fairly good shine too, although you could apply a clear shiny top coat over the top if you wanted your nails to look extra shiny. The brush is fairly small but not too difficult to use, and I like to apply my coats of nail polish fairly thickly to give a good coverage. I just love the colour, it’s such a pretty pale pastel pink and I think it would make a great base colour for nail art too. For the photo above I applied 2 thickish coats of Natural Days and you can see the great shine even though there is no clear top coat applied. It also lasts for quite a few days as long as you are fairly careful...
