Clarins – HydraQuench Tinted Moisturizer

Clarins – HydraQuench Tinted Moisturizer

Today I am reviewing a new Clarins product, HydraQuench Tinted Moisturizer. I have combination skin with an oily nose and chin, but dry cheeks and forehead and I regularly use Clarins HydraQuench Lotion SPF15 (now called Hydra Essential Milky Lotion) as it suits my skin perfectly – you can read my review of that here. So when I was asked if I would like to try this Tinted Moisturizer from the HydraQuench family I didn’t need to think twice about it. I’ve been a huge fan of Clarins skincare and make-up for many years, in fact it was the first premium skincare brand that I bought from as I liked the fact that you could easily get samples to try at home first before you had to spend your hard-earned money on a full size product. I have been using the Sand shade which is the second lightest shade, a pale tan with a pinky undertone. It would be too dark for my pale skin in the Winter, but...

Monu – Illuminating Primer SPF 15

Monu – Illuminating Primer SPF 15

I was really impressed with the last Monu skincare product that I tried out, so I was really pleased to see this little sample of Illuminating Primer SPF 15 in October’s Glossybox. Monu is an ethical skincare brand, they are against animal testing and their products contain no synthetic perfumes or colours. This Illuminating Primer SPF 15 contains zinc oxide for sun protection, plus antioxidant vitamin E, and is paraben free. This primer can be worn alone as a day moisturiser, or under make-up as a primer. It contains illuminating, light reflecting particles to give the face a radiant and soft-focus finish. Monu Illuminating Primer SPF 15 is a fairly light cream with a gentle plant-y scent. It does need to be massaged in to the skin very well otherwise your face may appear slightly white until the lotion has completely sunk in, but I do really like it. I love that it contains SPF 15 and helps protect against UV damage as I never go out of the...

Bobbi Brown – SPF 15 Tinted Moisturizer

Bobbi Brown – SPF 15 Tinted Moisturizer

Today I am reviewing SPF 15 Tinted Moisturizer from Bobbi Brown. I use this product a lot, it’s my go-to tinted moisturiser and I wear it most days. I’ve had this tube a while now and it’s almost empty. This tube is the old style, it has had a redesign to a slightly longer flatter tube, but other than that it has remained the same. The shade of SPF 15 Tinted Moisturizer that I wear is Light Tint, this is a pale creamy beige colour. There are 6 other shades available. The texture of this tinted moisturiser is really creamy and nice, and it gives a soft sheer finish on the skin. I rub a blob (about the size of a large pea!) between my fingers and then apply it to my face like I would with a regular moisturiser, but being careful to avoid my eyes, eyebrows and hairline. It gives a nice even coverage, but not too thick – it’s a great choice if you already have...

e.l.f. – Tinted Moisturiser SPF 15

e.l.f. – Tinted Moisturiser SPF 15

I have recently been testing out a few goodies from New York budget make-up brand e.l.f. (stands for Eyes Lips Face), and I have been fairly impressed with this little tube of tinted moisturiser. I do have to say it is a VERY little tube, just 12g! But it’s a great size for tucking inside a make-up bag or handbag and it’s great value too. It comes in a cardboard blister pack (pictured below) which I kind of like, it gives it an accessible ‘available to everyone’ kind of feel. If you’re a regular reader of Beauty Best Friend you will know that I like to protect my face from the sun during the day and this tinted moisturiser contains SPF15 which is enough to protect your face from the average everyday sunshine. e.l.f. Tinted Moisturiser SPF 15 is available in a choice of 7 shades, I chose ‘Rosy Beige’ which is a tanned beige colour with a hint of rosy pink. It does have quite an orangey tan to...

Monu – Hydrating Moisturiser SPF15

Monu – Hydrating Moisturiser SPF15

This Hydrating Moisturiser SPF15 from ethical skincare brand Monu was in my June Glossybox. This is the first product from Monu that I have tried and I have been pleasantly surprised. Monu is an ethical skincare brand, they are against animal testing and their products contain no synthetic perfumes or colours. This Hydrating Moisturiser SPF15 is suitable for all skin types and contains zinc oxide for sun protection, plus antioxidant vitamin E, and is paraben free. First things first, as the product is quite thick it is really difficult to get it out of the bottle! No amount of shaking will dispense the moisturiser, and after a big squeeze of the bottle you are left with a huge blob of moisturiser too big for use on just one face. However, this is just a sample size bottle for Glossybox distribution, and I do believe that the full size version of this product has a pump dispenser. Despite the Monu Hydrating Moisturiser SPF15 being quite thick it does sink into...

Clarins – Sun Care Oil-Free Lotion Spray UVB/UVA 15

Clarins – Sun Care Oil-Free Lotion Spray UVB/UVA 15

Relaxing in the sun and reviewing sunscreen….it’s a tough job but someone’s got to do it! I was recently sent this Sun Care Oil-Free Lotion Spray UVB/UVA 15 by Clarins, and although I have used Clarins skincare for years I have never tried any of their sun care products, so I was really looking forward to giving it a go. This sun lotion offers medium protection for skin that tans easily, and although I am a natural blonde I am lucky enough to tan fairly easily as long as I am careful so this is a perfect product for me. If you have pale skin or are prone to burning then you would need to choose a product with a higher protection, Clarins have a good range going right up to SPF50. This clear, transparent Oil-Free Lotion Spray spritzes directly onto the skin with a nice even, thin spray and it doesn’t need much rubbing in. Initially the lotion feels really smooth and silky on the skin but not...
