Stila – Color Balm Lipstick in Isabelle

I’ve been desperate to try some make-up from Stila for ages, their packaging makes their products look so tempting, so on Black Friday I put in a cheeky online order. One of the items I ordered was this Color Balm Lipstick in Isabelle, I liked the idea that this has the nourishing properties of a balm but is still fairly pigmented.
First, let me start with the packaging. The Color Balm Lipstick comes in a rustic brown cardboard box which shows off the silver bullet tube really well. The lid of the tube has the word ‘Stila’ cut out of it and showing through is the same colour as the lipstick – a good way to see which colour you are choosing if you have a few of these without removing the lids. The best part of the tube is that it has a small round mirror on the end of the lid, it’s not very big, granted, but it’s enough to do an emergency touch-up or to check that you don’t have crumbs round your mouth!
Isabelle is a mid pinky brown shade, Stila describe it as ‘adobe pink’ but I’d say it was more of a chestnut brown with a pink undertone. The formula of the Color Balm Lipstick is really rich and creamy and it contains peppermint oil which soothes and stimulates the lips – it tastes a bit like an After Eight mint!
Here you can see what it looks like on my lips. It’s quite a natural shade, but it is very pigmented and given the balm-like formula it doesn’t dry the lips out at all – perfect for Winter.
I’m a bit in love with this Color Balm Lipstick in Isabelle and I’m definitely planning to try some of the other shades – there are 18 colours to choose from in total.
When I purchased this Color Balm Lipstick from Stila I also ordered the Limited Edition Glow & Behold Makeup Set as I thought it would be a great way to try out some more Stila products cheaply. I’ll be reviewing these individually soon.
Color Balm Lipstick in Isabelle is priced at £16, available from Stila.
