St. Moriz – Instant Self Tanning Mist

I actually had a bit of a self tanning fail whilst using this St. Moriz Instant Self Tanning Mist, but through no fault of the product, just my own stupidity! I’m a big fan of spray-on fake tans, my favourite is Garnier Ambre Solaire No Streaks Bronzer (which I’ll be reviewing soon) as you don’t even need to rub it in – just spray, leave to dry a few minutes, then go. I like anything that is easy and quick and can’t always be bothered with all the scrubbing and buffing that is associated with fake tanning.
So I assumed that this product would be a similar type of self tan spray, where you quickly spray the skin then let the tan develop…. however it’s not! It sprays a dark brown liquid onto your skin that then needs spreading and applying with a mitt like regular self tans… so after spraying it onto one leg I quickly had to sprint into the bathroom and find my fake tan mitt to buff the colour into my skin!
I also had to scrub the bedroom carpet and the bath after applying as it’s a bit drippy, although luckily it does come out of both textiles and ceramic-ware very easily!
On the plus side St. Moriz Instant Self Tanning Mist gives a nice even tan and it’s instant, you don’t need to wait for it to develop. The image above shows my legs before using the product….
…and this image shows my legs just a few minutes later after using the Instant Self Tanning Mist. You can also build the colour up gradually over a few days if you want more of an intense tan. I’ve been using the Medium shade as I have pale skin but it also comes in a Dark variety too.
It does dry fairly quickly so you need to buff it straight after applying and do one body part at a time, and you should leave around 4-6 hours after application before showering.
I have to say that it’s very forgiving, I managed to drip some water onto one of my legs a few minutes after applying the tan which left a white drip mark, but a quick buff with my mitt (I just use a cheap one from Superdrug) and the tan still looked even and the mark couldn’t be seen.
I have to admit that I prefer my Garnier No Streaks Bronzer, but this St. Moriz Instant Self Tanning Mist is still really great although I would recommend applying it whilst stood in the bath or shower to prevent any drips or wayward spray from marking your floors! It’s a dupe for St. Tropez and is a quarter of the price too.
St. Moriz Instant Self Tanning Mist is priced at just £4.99 for 150ml, available from Feel Unique.
