Soap & Glory Peaches And Clean Review

I have just discovered the wonder-brand that is Soap & Glory. I know, I know, they’ve been around since 2006, but I was always put off by their quirky retro packaging and affordable prices – a cleanser costing £7 can’t really do very much… can it? Well I have been proved well and truly wrong!

I was in the market for a new cleanser, and after reading a couple of rave reviews about Soap & Glory Peaches And Clean 4-in-1 Wash-Off Deep Cleansing Milk I thought I would give it a try. I am actually puzzled as why it is called ‘4-in-1’ as the packaging claims its ingredients actually have 5 benefits:

  • peach extract with skin smoothing fruit acids
  • Quillaja Bark, a gentle, natural soap
  • Jojoba oil, an emollient skin softener
  • ‘Detoxyboost Technology’ to help purify and deep clean
  • ‘Poreshrink R2’ for a clearer brighter complexion

Anyway, the guys at Soap & Glory may not be able to count, but they can certainly make a good cleansing product! The pump bottle makes it easy to dispense the creamy textured white lotion which has a heavenly peach fragrance with a hint of fresh mint and is suitable for all skin types. It rubs into the skin really nicely, feeling very slightly oily, and then is removed easily  – I use a warm damp facecloth, followed by a rinse with warm water. Not only does Peaches and Clean cleanse the skin, it also removes makeup, eliminating the need for a separate makeup remover. However, if I was wearing a lot of eye makeup I think I would still prefer to use a makeup remover, as I wouldn’t want to use too much of this rich cleanser around my eye area given that it contains so many fruit acids.

Soap & Glory Peaches And Clean Label

And the multi-tasking benefits of this Soap & Glory cleanser go on… I had read reviews that Soap & Glory Peaches & Clean can be used as a face mask as well as a cleanser, so I decided to give it a go and I wasn’t disappointed. I applied Peaches and Clean as a face mask before a bath, and once I removed it my skin felt wonderfully clean and refreshed. I do think you would need to be careful using this product as a face mask if you have sensitive skin – the Glycol and fruit acids help to loosen old skin cells and exfoliate the skin and could make the skin tingle and feel sensitive – but I didn’t experience any of these problems.

Although it took me a while to get used to it, I quite like Soap & Glory’s retro packaging now, and their quirky claims on the labels. I will definitely be repurchasing Peaches and Clean cleansing milk. Soap & Glory is a low-mid priced brand getting great reviews at the moment, and I am dying to try out some more of their products.

UPDATE 23rd August 2017 – since writing this review the packaging for Peaches & Clean has changed, but it’s still the same great product inside!

Soap & Glory Peaches and Clean Cleansing Milk is priced at £8 for 350ml, and is available from Boots.
