Save The Blow Dry Shower Cap Review

Did you know that, on average, we girls spend over two hours a week blow drying and styling our locks? And it’s so annoying to emerge from our daily shower and remove the shower cap to find that our beautifully soft and styled hair now resembles a limp birds nest. Well no longer… enter Save The Blow Dry*, a new shower cap recently launched in August 2013.

Dubbed ‘the Queen of shower caps’ Save The Blow Dry has lots of room inside to comfortably hold lots of hair (it will even hold a large claw-clip). It has soft super-absorbent micro-weave towelling inside that will zap any humidity that gets inside, and a protective waterproof outer. I think it looks much better than other old-fashioned shower caps, and has a funky pink bow design on the outside. It comes nicely packaged in a reusable plastic pouch and would make the perfect Christmas pressie.

Save The Blow Dry

I love the funky branding of Save The Shower Cap, it reminds me a bit of Soap & Glory’s branding with the vivid pink colours and tongue-in-cheek wording. This product would make a perfect Christmas pressie for any girl (or boy?), especially someone with long hair.

I have been using my Save The Blow Dry for around a week now and I’m really impressed with it. It definitely protects hair from the humidity of a bath or shower and it is nice and roomy. Because it is so big it does have a tendency to slip down over the eyes if it’s not completely filled with hair, but this is pretty much its only fault. The inside of the shower cap is really lovely and soft, and it looks so much better than those disposable clear shower caps you get in hotels! Still not stylish enough for me to publish a photo of me wearing it though….

Save The Blow Dry

My favourite part about Save The Blow Dry is that you can turn it inside out and wear it when you are using a hair treatment mask. I often whip up a hot-oil hair mask using olive oil and a few drops of tea tree oil to help soothe my dry scalp and moisturise my hair, and when I did this last week I left the mask on for around 30 minutes with my Save The Blow Dry turned inside out over the top of it. The waterproof coating of the shower cap stops it from getting stained or marked by the mask, and it helps to keep the oil mask warm so that it performs better. I did find the shower cap a bit scratchy on my forehead where gathered bit of plastic is, but other than that it was great. I do love a product that can multi-task!

Overall I love this product, I think Save The Blow Dry has revived the shower cap and… dare I say it… has taken the first step to making shower caps trendy…!?

Save The Blow Dry is priced at £14.95 and is available from Save The Blow Dry.
