Salcura Antiac Daily Face Wipes and Activ Gel Serum Review

I was recently sent a selection of skincare products from natural skincare specialists Salcura, amongst it was this duo of Antiac products aimed at those with problem skin or acne. Antiac is a range of 100% natural acne treatment that contains no harsh chemicals, only plant-based ingredients such as sea buckthorn, tea tree and sandalwood oils. Antiac was recently rated the best acne treatment on Channel 4′s Embarrassing Bodies programme. You may have already read my review of Salcura’s Antiac Daily Face Wash and Activ Liquid Spray (read that here).

I have had problems with my skin for many years, often experiencing bad breakouts, and I did find that the other Antiac products helped with that for a while, so I was looking forward to trying out this pack of Antiac Daily Face Wipes* and Activ Gel Serum*.

Salcura Antiac Daily Face Wipes

Antiac Daily Face Wipes – If you’re a regular reader of my blog then you’ll know that I’m not a big fan of face wipes. In my opinion they don’t cleanse the skin as well as a cleanser does, and they can sometimes just move the dirt/make-up around your face without actually removing it all properly. However they are better than not removing your make-up at all, and occasionally they do come into their own – for example, when at a festival, whilst camping or at the gym. If I do use a face wipe to clean my skin then I like to use two – one to remove the bulk of the make-up and grime and the second to remove any last traces. Then I like to rinse my face with water to remove freshen the skin and remove any chemicals the wipe has left behind.

As facial wipes go I thought these Antiac Daily Face Wipes were good. They are very moist and the wipe is slightly textured so it gives your skin a gentle exfoliate whilst it is removing the dirt. However if you do have acne then I would suggest that you try out Antiac Daily Face Wash and use that on a regular basis, rather than using a facial wipe.

Salcura Activ Gel Serum

Antiac Activ Gel Serum – this product is basically a spot cream in serum format. As with all other Salcura Antiac products it is made from 100% natural ingredients and its star ingredient is Sea Buckthorn Oil which helps reduce inflammation. The product should be applied to problem spot areas and gently rubbed in using a fingertip.

This Activ Gel Serum is a browny-yellow coloured gel, it doesn’t look particularly pleasant but I do like the fact that Salcura haven’t tried to change the colour by adding artificial colourings and chemicals. It also has the same fresh slightly medicated scent as the other Antiac products that I have previously reviewed.

The thing that I do like about this Activ Gel Serum is that it can be used once every 4 hours, as it is made from natural ingredients it won’t damage or dry out the skin from overuse. Plus it’s a great size to carry around in a pocket or handbag so you can treat your spots whenever you need to. The serum slowly dries out spots under the surface of the skin, and whilst I’m not sure that it’s any better than any other spot treatments I’ve tried I do like the fact that it’s made from natural ingredients.

Personally I actually prefer the Antiac Activ Liquid Spray from Salcura (you can read that review and find out how to claim a free sample here) but the Activ Gel Serum is certainly worth a try if you have problem skin.

Antiac Daily Face Wipes are priced at £6.99 for a pack of 25 wipes, available from Salcura. Antiac Activ Gel Serum is priced at £8.99 for a 15ml tube, available from Salcura. All Salcura purchases are protected by a 30 day money back guarantee if you’re not happy.

If you do have severe acne then I really recommend contacting your doctor or a dermatologist, acne cannot be cured by using skincare products alone and should be treated from the inside out.
