I was recently contacted by Salcura to ask if I would like to try out some of their specialist natural skincare products. I was sent a real haul of products to test including these 2 Antiac products developed to help reduce and treat the symptoms of acne. Antiac is a range of 100% natural acne treatment that contains no harsh chemicals, only plant-based ingredients such as sea buckthorn, tea tree and sandalwood oils. Antiac was recently rated the best acne treatment on Channel 4’s Embarrassing Bodies programme.
Antiac Daily Face Wash* – this is a ph neutral foaming facial wash with a translucent amber colour, and it lathers and foams fairly well. It should be used morning and evening. It removes face make-up really well, but it’s not too good at removing eye make-up so you may need to use a separate eye make-up remover beforehand. It has a pleasant scent that doesn’t smell medicated or clinical in any way and it’s totally free from parabens, SLS, perfumes, steroids, antibiotics, hormones, lanolin, cortisones, soaps, phthalates and peroxides. The only downside is that the large tube is quite squishy which makes it difficult to only dispense a small blob of the face wash.
Antiac Activ Liquid Spray* – this product is aimed at those with severe acne. This product is a liquid spray and should be used a bit like a toner, applied to the skin between cleansing and moisturising either using a cotton wool pad or your fingers (you shouldn’t actually spray it onto the face, and should avoid the eye area). I find about 3 sprays is enough for one application and have been applying it with my fingers. It’s only a small bottle, but only using 3 sprays twice a day it should last quite a while. It feels refreshing and cool on the skin, and has a pleasant slightly menthol scent. It can also be used on hard to reach areas like the back, simply by using the spray to apply it.
I have been using this pair of products for over 2 weeks now and I am pleasantly surprised with the results. I regularly experience bad breakouts around my chin and mouth, jawline and below my cheekbones, but have found that these Antiac products reduce the swelling of spots and helps to dry them up. I have also had less spots forming over the last few days, so I think that the effectiveness of these products will also probably increase over time.
I love the fact that these products are made from 100% natural ingredients. A lot of acne treatments are harsh and can over stimulate the skin thus making the breakouts and oil secretion worse, but these are really gentle and I definitely think they’re worth a try if you have problem skin as they’re not too expensive either.
I have been reading customer reviews of these Antiac products on Amazon and it seems that people either find they really work for them and completely clear up their spots, or they find that they make their acne worse – there doesn’t seem to be any middle ground with these products. Personally for me they’re as close to a miracle product as I have found and I will definitely be purchasing both of these again once they run out.
If you want to try out these Antiac products visit the Salcura website where you can get a free mini trial sample of the Liquid Spray and Daily Face Wash.
I will also soon be reviewing other products from Salcura, including a couple more products from the Antiac range and a shampoo and conditioner for sensitve scalps.
If you do have severe acne then I really recommend contacting your doctor or a dermatologist, acne cannot be cured by using skincare products alone and should be treated from the inside out.
