Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal Pencil in Silver Review

My name is Laura and I am addicted to coloured eye pencils…… there, I’ve admitted it! I do love a good coloured eye pencil, my make-up box is home to a fair selection of dark and brightly coloured Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencils, but I don’t think Urban Decay has a good range of paler colours so I was on a mission to bag myself something a bit paler and shimmery… and this Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal Pencil in Silver just fits the bill.

The tip of the pencil is really really soft and this makes it really easy to apply to the eye, you hardly need to press at all and it doesn’t cause the skin to drag. What’s more, once it has been on the skin for a couple of minutes it becomes really waterproof – after I had applied the pencil to my arm to take the below swatch image I tried hard to remove it just using warm water and cotton wool and it wouldn’t budge at all! So it really is extremely long lasting and hard wearing, just make sure you’ve got some make-up remover on hand for when you want to remove it.

You can see from the swatch image above that the silver colour is really frosty and shimmery and it really catches the light. Once again, I must mention just how easy it is to apply this Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal Pencil, it really glides onto the skin.

On the image above I have appled the silver Scandaleyes pencil all along my upper lash line and then smudged a little onto the outer corner of my lower lash line. I was a little bit disappointed as to how subtley this silver pencil shows up when it is actually on your eyes, it doesn’t shine out too obviously and you need to make sure you apply plenty of it so that it can be seen. But I do think it would look great applied with a more dramatic eye look of dark greys and browns, then the silver would stand out a lot more against the darker colours and give a more dramatic effect.

Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal Pencils come in 7 different shades, and they are much cheaper than Urban Decay’s bestselling line of eye pencils although the rest of Rimmel’s pencil colours are maybe not quite as vibrant.

Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Kajal Pencil in Silver is priced at just £3.99 and is available from Superdrug.
