Summer is the time when we all bare our feet – whether it’s walking barefoot along the beach, kicking off your shoes in the back garden, or just wearing a new pair of sandals. So what better time to review this fab duo of foot products from Philosophy! I have been using these for a week or so now, and they are perfect for getting your feet into tip-top condition and ready for those flip flops.
Philosophy Footnotes* is an Energizing Foot Scrub – the tube contains a green exfoliator of thick jelly-like consistency which contains a really good concentration of pumice exfoliating grains. It contains eucalyptus and lavender and has a fresh menthol minty fragrance – peppermint is well known for treating feet, providing a refreshing and cooling sensation. A generous amount of the Footnotes scrub should be applied to damp feet and then massaged in circular motions all over the feet for a few minutes. The scrub froths a little when water is added and feels energizing and cooling on the feet. The product should then be rinsed off and feet dried with a soft towel. I have found it easiest to sit on the edge of the bath to apply Footnotes, then rinse it off with the shower attachment, but you could also apply it in the shower.
After applying Footnotes to the feet, you can rub your hands together and the product that is left on your hands doubles up as a hand scrub!
Philosophy Soul Owner* is an Exfoliating Foot Cream – the tube contains a thick white foot butter, this product also smells of menthol peppermint. Soul Owner contains alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) which help to break down dead skin cells. That means that this product helps to exfoliate dry, flaky skin and callouses, but AHAs can increase skin sensitivity and you should use a sunscreen on your feet and limit exposure to the sun whilst using this foot moisturiser. A small blob of Philosophy Soul Owner should be massaged into the feet, you only need a small amount is it is really thick and luxurious and it sinks in to the skin fairly quickly leaving feet feeling soft and smooth.
My feet feel really soft and smooth after using this Philosophy foot duo as part of a pedicure, as you can see from the image above! I am very impressed with this duet of Philosophy products, and would definitely recommend them.
I love Philosophy products, they make great gifts and they are perfect for both women and men, (in fact, my husband has got his eyes on these foot products!). Sometimes the prophecies on the tubes really make you think too… the wording on the Soul Owner tube reads ‘…are you really rich or do you just have money?’
Philosophy Footnotes (120ml) and Soul Owner (93g) can be purchased as a duo for £23 from QVC.
