The last time I ordered online from Origins I received these 2 free samples of Starting Over Age-Erasing Moisturiser and Clear Improvement Active Charcoal Mask. Origins are really good like that and often offer free samples or free delivery if you spend over a certain amount, and these little mini-replica tubes are the perfect size to stash in an overnight bag or suitcase when you are going away.
The Starting Over moisturiser is a thick white cream with a floral scent. The scent is a little bit strong for my liking but it isn’t unpleasant. The ingredients include Mimosa, Argan Leaf Extract and Green Algae and the product aims to improve the appearance of lines and wrinkles. Starting Over can be used morning and evening but I have just been using it in the evening as it doesn’t contain an SPF. It is actually a great moisturiser to apply at night as it is very thick and moisturising and gives your skin a real moisture boost while you are asleep. It reminds me a bit of Lancome Primordiale Skin Recharge moisturiser which was recently discontinued. It is a little bit too rich for regular use on the oily sections of my combination skin (chin and nose) but it works wonders on my dry bits and will be a great moisturiser for Winter when the weather is harsh on the skin. The full size product comes in a 50ml pot. If you have normal to dry skin it would definitely be worth you checking out this Starting Over moisturiser.
Clear Improvement is an active charcoal face mask to help clear the pores. The product is a thick black-coloured mask with a feint charcoal smell, it applies fairly creamy but dries very hard so that you can’t move your face or smile! Normally I would avoid clay-based masks as they can bring me out in spots afterwards, but I have been reading a lot of good reviews about this recently from other bloggers so I was expecting great results. The ingredients of this product include activated charcoal which acts like a magnet to draw out pore-cloggers and white china clay that absorbs environmental pollutants. After applying the Clear Improvement mask to my face I felt a gentle tingling sensation whilst the mask dried and after leaving for around 5 minutes I removed it with a damp facecloth. Afterwards my skin felt and looked clear and I was pleased with the results, and I am now definitely thinking about investing in a full size tube of Clear Improvement mask to help keep the blocked pores around my chin and nose at bay. I would suggest you steer clear of this mask if you have dry skin but otherwise it’s well worth giving it a go. The full size version of this product is available in a 50ml or 100ml tube.
Origins products contain no parabens, phthalates, paraffin or other nasties.
Starting Over Moisturiser is priced at £38 for 50ml and is available from Origins.
