NYC – Expert Last Lip Color in Creamy Caramel

I have to admit I’m not too clued up on budget make-up brand NYC. You can pick up their products in most Superdrug stores for a few pounds, and last year I reviewed their Appleicious Glossy Lip Balms which I really liked. I have to admit I’m a bit put off by NYC’s packaging, I think it looks quite cheap and there are other budget beauty brands who do packaging much better.
I love nude and brown lipsticks (almost as much as I love pink lipsticks!) and this one is NYC’s offering – Expert Last Lip Color in Creamy Caramel. There are around 15 different shades of Expert Last Lip Color available, and at just £1.99 each you really can’t afford not to try one!
Creamy Caramel is a nutty brown shade, with a creamy texture. It’s quite a pigmented shade but it’s definitely not matt as it has a subtle sheen to it. It has a lovely creamy soft luxurious feeling when it is on the lips and also has a nice vanilla flavour.
Expert Last Lip Color in Creamy Caramel applies really easily to the lips straight out of the tube, but if you want a richer colour then I recommend using a lip brush (I’m a bit lazy and prefer applying straight from the tube!). In the image below I have used Clarins Lipliner Pencil in Chocolate to line my lips, it’s a little darker than the Creamy Caramel lipstick but some gentle blending and it looks great.
I’ve been pleasantly surprised with this NYC lipstick, I definitely didn’t expect anything special and yet I love the creamy pigmented colour – perfect for Autumn and Winter. Right, see ya… I’m just popping off to Superdrug to purchase some more Expert Last Lip Color shades….
Have you tried any of NYC’s products? Which ones would you recommend?
Expert Last Lip Color in Creamy Caramel (440) from NYC is priced at a bargainous £1.99, available from Superdrug.
