New Summer products from Beauty Crowd review

If you’ve not heard of Beauty Crowd before it’s an online beauty retailer with a difference – not only do they sell hand-picked beauty brands that are a little bit unique, they also provide a beauty community with a blog, look book of the latest trends and videos showing hints and tips on how to use their products.

I’d never heard of either of the two brands before that I was sent to try out, Nicka K or Absolute, but I think it’s great that Beauty Crowd are offering something that you can’t get from the other big online beauty retailers.

So how did I get on with my products?

Nicka K Colorluxe Powder Blush

Nicka K Colorluxe Powder Blush – there are six shades of powder blush available, I’ve been using the Rose shade – it’s a bright rosy pink colour. The bottom of the pot holds the loose powder blush, then you unscrew the lid to reveal a soft velvety puff that you use to dab the blush directly onto your cheek. I do find that this method can make your blush a bit patchy so it’s best to blend it afterwards with a brush to make sure your coverage is even.

I think the packaging is really clever and I love the fact that the lid has a little mirror on the outside, even though it’s small you can use it for touch-ups throughout the day.

Nicka K Colorluxe Powder Blush Swatch

You can see from the swatch image above that Rose is a very bright colour, you only need a tiny dab of it to get a good rosy blush. I’ve been wearing it with a pale flawless base, a smudge of black eyeliner and lots of black mascara for a wide eyed innocent rosy-cheeked look. The Colorluxe Powder Blush lasts all day too with no fading or smudging, I’ll definitely be continuing to use this product throughout the Summer.

Absolute Beauty Mark Flower Stamp

Absolute New York Beauty Mark Flower Stamp – this next product is a little bit of a gem, I’ve never seen anything like it before! It’s a temporary ink tattoo in felt-tip pen form, in a flower shape (a heart and a star shape are also available). It’s really easy to apply, you just press the shaped end of the pen onto your skin and hey presto! There’s no glue, transfers or brushes involved and it only takes a second to apply.

Absolute Beauty Mark Flower Stamp On Wrist

Here you can see where I’ve applied the Flower Stamp to my wrist, you do have to press fairly firmly otherwise the flower can be a bit feint like the middle flower is, however this was only my first attempt and I can get them perfect every time now. I think it looks really great stamped in clusters of three on a wrist or ankle, or just one flower on its own in a discreet hidden place like behind the ear or on the foot.

This product is great fun and would be perfect for festivals and parties. Plus the tattoos wash off instantly with a bit of soap and water so it’s great for kids too… just don’t get stuck in the rain for too long or your tattoo might start to run!

Absolute Beauty Mark Flower Stamp Close Up

I really love both of these products and I’d definitely like to try some more products from both Nicka K and Absolute.

UPDATE 23rd July 2017 – Sadly Beauty Crowd is no longer trading online, but I’ve managed to track down these products for your elsewhere. Nicka K Colorluxe Powder Blush is priced at £7.95 for 5g, available from Parfum Dreams. Absolute New York Beauty Mark Flower Stamp is priced at £9.95, available from Parfum Dreams.
