My Little Box – July 2015

Apologies, once again the My Little Box review is a bit late, I’ve been experimenting with my new DSLR camera and it took me a while to learn how to edit the images.
Sadly the last couple of boxes have been disappointing for me, but I love this one, the theme is Road Trip…. think freedom, holidays and easy-to-use products!
If you’ve never heard of My Little Box it’s a quirky monthly beauty box that offers something a bit different, including their own range of make-up ‘My Little Beauty’, a proper readable mini magazine in each box, plus exciting little non-beauty extras – past examples have included jewellery, stationery and T-shirts.
So, what was inside My Little Road Trip Box in July….?
I’ll start with the beauty products as these were my favourite items inside July’s box. There was a full size Essie nail polish in ‘Time For Me Time’, it’s a very pale pink and I painted this onto my nails within about half an hour of receiving the box as I absolutely love it! It might even warrant its very own review here on Beauty Best Friend!
The second product was a full size Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water, I’ve never tried this product although I know it was a bit of a cult with other bloggers a few months ago, so I’m really looking forward to seeing if it lives up to the hype.
There was also an After Sun Gel from My Little Box’ very own beauty range My Little Beauty, plus a small sheet of gold temporary tattoos that I’m really looking forward to using! (You’re never too old for temporary tattoos!).
I particularly loved the little drawstring bag that held the beauty products this month, it was decorated with pink stars.
The first of the non-beauty products in the Road Trip-themed box was this plastic travel organiser, inside it has slots for passport, credit card and money. I’m not too keen on this, whilst I think it’s a good idea I don’t really like the illustration on the front and it feels a bit cheap and plasticky.
However I do really love the idea of this postcard book – it’s a mini book inside an envelope that you can take away with you and then send home to your loved ones. I think Moleskine do something similar… There was also a BIC ballpoint pen included, it’s a bit of a fancy one though, with silver frosting and a rubber end that can be used on tablets and other touch screen devices.
So overall a good set of contents in the July box I thought, which made up for the disappointment of the last couple of boxes.
As usual I was very pleased with the magazine, it really is one of the best magazines to come free with a beauty box, with actual articles rather than just promoting the brands that are inside the box.
I’ll have another My Little Box review for you soon as August’s box arrived with me at the weekend, keep an eye out on Beauty Best Friend for that…
