My Little Box – August 2015

Today I have another My Little Box review for you, this one is for the August box and for once it’s on time! I received the August box last week and in my opinion it was another good one!
The theme was My Little Gypset Box… I’d never heard of the word ‘gypset’ but according to the dictionary it relates to a ‘modern nomadic lifestyle’ and the products inside this month’s box are all geared around an easy lifestyle with a bohemian twist.
If you’ve never heard of My Little Box it’s a quirky monthly beauty box that offers something a bit different, including their own range of make-up ‘My Little Beauty’, a proper readable mini magazine in each box, plus exciting little non-beauty extras – past examples have included jewellery, stationery and T-shirts.
So, what was inside My Little Gypset Box in August….?
I’ll start with the beauty products as these were my favourite items inside August’s box.
There was a mini Korres Basil Lemon Body Milk, this is a white body lotion with a lovely fresh lemon scent and I’ve been using it as a hand lotion. I love Korres products and this one contains 93% natural ingredients.
So Susan is a new brand I’ve heard so much about but not had chance to try yet, so I was pleased to see a So Susan Colour Hybrid tube in the box – this is described as a ‘cream-mousse’ for use on lips and cheeks. I haven’t tried it out yet, but I was happy to read that it is cruelty-free and contains no parabens.
The third beauty product was a large pressed powder bronzer from My Little Box’ very own beauty range My Little Beauty, this is a good simple product and in my opinion you can never have too many bronzers! The compact is really sturdy too and I love the cute little orange sun umbrellas on the lid!
The first of the non-beauty products in the Gypset-themed box was a cute dark blue printed canvas bag with a drawstring handle. I love this, it’s a bit small for a beach bag but it has a cool indie vibe going on and I think it fulfils the Gypset theme perfectly.
I also love these cute hair ties that also double up as bracelets. Anyone who knows me will know that I never go anywhere without a hair bobble around my wrist but a lot of the basic elastic ones are either a bit too tight or don’t look very classy. These nice soft hair ties look great worn on the wrist and they don’t have any joins in them either so I’m hoping they’re going to last quite a while.
Overall a great box with a good theme I think, and perfect for Summer. The quote on this card says it all….
As usual I really enjoyed reading the magazine too, it really is one of the best magazines to come free with a beauty box, with actual articles inside rather than just promoting the brands that are inside the box.
Sadly this is the last My Little Box that I’ll be posting about for a while as I have temporarily unsubscribed. I’m expecting a baby in a few weeks so I’ve been reviewing my spending! I’ll definitely be re-subscribing again sometime in the future though as I think My Little Box is the best beauty subscription box around.
My Little Box is priced at £11 plus £3 P&P per month, to subscribe visit My Little Box.
