My Little Box – April 2015

I received my first My Little Box last month, and despite being a little bit disappointed with the beauty products inside I was very excited to see what April’s box would bring. It didn’t disappoint! The theme of the April box is ‘My Little Dreambox’ and they’ve fulfilled the theme so well.
If you’re never heard of My Little Box it’s a quirky monthly beauty box that offers something a bit different, including their own range of make-up ‘My Little Beauty’, a proper readable mini magazine in each box, plus exciting little non-beauty extras – past examples have included stickers, stationery and T-shirts.
So, what was inside My Little Dreambox in April….?
One of my favourite items in the April box was this traditional style stamp and ink pad. The stamp has phrases in both French and English such as ‘Made With Love’ and ‘Avec Plaisir’ and it’s just so cute! I’ve already used it to stamp some stars onto some handmade business cards and I can see it coming in really handy for future creative escapades! It’s the sort of item that regular mainstream beauty boxes miss out, and it’s what makes My Little Box all the more quirky and different.
I was curious to see what was inside this pretty stitched cloud pouch….
…it’s a pretty charm on a peach cord from Delphine Pariente that can be worn either as a necklace or wrapped around the wrist as a bracelet. The gold charm reads ‘Bonne Etoile’ which translates as ‘Beautiful Star’ and it’s so simple but really pretty.
It’s another beautiful addition to My Little Dreambox.
There were three beauty products all nestled inside the re-usable printed drawstring bag (these bags are great for keeping jewellery and small beauty products safe in bedroom drawers or in suitcases whilst travelling).
The first item that I took out was this Baume Rouge Velour from French cosmetics brand ‘Loved By…’. Developed for French singer and actress Lou Lesage (no, I hadn’t heard of her either…) it’s a cute red tinted Lip Balm in a pot.
Loved By… is a brand that I hadn’t come across before and I love the idea that they develop products for, and name them after, famous people.
The second beauty product is a Repairing Hair Mask for dry ends, from My Little Box’s very own beauty brand My Little Beauty. I was a bit disappointed with this product, as there was almost an identical product in last month’s box from Kerastase, and I’m not really into trying out lots of hair products. However I do love My Little Beauty’s packaging and branding, and I’ll be trying out and reviewing this haircare product in the weeks to come.
The final beauty product in the drawstring bag was Wild Cow Invigorating Body Lotion from natural skincare brand Cowshed. This is a brand that I’ve been meaning to try out for the longest time, so I’m thrilled that I finally get the chance to review this body lotion. I think this is a brand that sits really well alongside My Little Box – a bit off-the-wall with a good sense of humour!
The magazine this month was in a giant fold-out format! I haven’t read it yet, but I’m planning to spread it over the sitting room floor tonight and have a browse with a cup of green tea!
I think that April’s box can be summed up by this cloud-shaped quote from Walt Disney which was included inside the box…. It’s all about dreaming, positive thinking and achieving…. and right now I’m dreaming about what May’s My Little Box might have in store for me!
My Little Box is priced at £11 plus £3 P&P per month, to subscribe visit My Little Box.
