My 3 favourite….. Lipcare Products

This is the second in my occasional feature ‘My 3 favourite…..’ in which I choose my 3 favourite products from a particular category. Today I will be discussing my 3 favourite lipcare products and explaining why I like them so much. I’m a bit of a sucker for lip balms, particularly if they’re in cute packaging, but they don’t always live up to their claims so I have picked 3 lipcare products that actually work and have different benefits for the lips.
The first lipcare product that really makes the grade is Lip Glow Color Reviver Balm from Dior. I’ve been using this for a couple of years now and absolutely love it! It’s sort of a cross between a lip balm and a lipstick – it has been designed to enhance the lips’ natural colour, and it reacts with your lips’ own ‘chemistry’ to make lips look pinker, fuller and radiant.
The pale pink balm looks pretty much clear when you apply it to your lips, but after 30 seconds it starts to turn a lovely natural pink colour, making your lips look full and radiant. It has a sweet vanilla taste and also gives SPF10 protection from the sun.
Lip Glow Color Reviver Balm is rather pricey (isn’t everything from Dior) but in my opinion it’s worth every penny. Last year Dior brought out a limited edition coral version of this product, unfortunately I missed it but I’ll be keeping my eyes open to see if they bring any more out as it would be great to have another one in a different shade.
This is a rather glamorous lipcare product that protects the lips and adds some natural colour at the same time.
Dior Lip Glow Color Reviver Balm is priced at £23.50 and is available from Feel Unique.

To be honest this second lipcare product could have been anything from Burt’s Bees! I love all of their lipcare products, they’re so moisturising and nourishing and contain natural ingredients.
I’ve chosen Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm in Pink Blossom as this is what I apply before I go to bed at night to prevent my lips from drying out overnight. The lip balm applies well and feels nice and soft, I also think it leaves lips feeling moisturised for quite a while, so you don’t need to reapply all the time. Unfortunately it doesn’t give much of a tint on the lips, hence the reason why I use it like a regular lip balm and not a lip tint.
I absolutely love the packaging of this Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm too – it comes packaged in a cardboard tube, making it feel a bit more special than your other everyday run-of-the-mill lip balms. I just loved popping open the cardboard tubing to find the product inside, and on the pink half of the cardboard tube it talks a little bit about Burts Bees philosophy of using natural products to help promote wellbeing, which is a nice touch.
This is a great everyday lip balm and I love that it is made from natural ingredients.
Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Balm is usually priced at £5.99 but is currently on offer at Feel Unique for just £5.09.
The final lipcare product that I really rate is one whose name I dislike…. it’s Dr Lipp Original Nipple Balm For Lips! It was originally formulated for breastfeeding women, which is where the name comes from, and contains 100% natural ingredients including lanolin.
This product is the very definition of ‘multi-tasking’ – not only can it be used on lips (and nipples!) but also on dry skin, cuticles and sunburn. It can also be used with your make-up, to add gloss to the eyelids, highlight cheek bones or neaten eyebrows.
Original Nipple Balm For Lips is a really thick balm – I would describe it as more of a thick wax – and you only need to apply a tiny bit on the lips. I find it much too thick and rich for everyday use but it’s a godsend in Winter and protects lips from the cold weather, it’s also the only thing I’ve found that really nourishes and heals chapped lips.
A great multi-tasking product that’s perfect to keep in your handbag for all manner of skincare emergencies!
Dr Lipp Original Nipple Balm For Lips is priced at £11.50 and is available from Look Fantastic.

I’d love to hear what you think about my choice of favourite lipcare products. Have you tried any of them, and what did you think? Which lipcare products are your favourites?
