MUA – Lipstick in Shade 14

This is the second MUA lipstick that I have tested (see the previous review here). MUA lipsticks are remarkable in the fact that they are fantastic value for money and cost just £1! Yes, you read that correctly, just £1. “But are they any good?” I hear you ask. Well keep reading…
Shade 14 is a pale nude beige colour, it is surprisingly creamy, applies really nicely from the tube and has a lovely vanilla scent – it certainly doesn’t feel like a budget product. It is a fairly matt colour with no shimmer as you can see from the swatch image below.
Makeup Academy Lipstick in Shade 14 is great given it’s price and I have been wearing it when I want to play down my lips and make a feature of my eyes. The sleek black tube wouldn’t look out of place in a cosmetic purse filled with Chanel and Mac products either. I have said before that it would be nice if MUA gave their lipstick colours a name rather than a number, but that’s the only let down with this budget lipstick.
I really love this nude lipstick, and I will definitely be trying out more of the other 14 lipstick colours in MUA’s range, in fact I could try them all and still have spent less than the price of one Chanel lipstick! To add extra shine to this MUA Lipstick in Shade 14 I would recommend wearing a thin coat of MUA’s Sheer Finish Lipgloss in ‘Let’s Meet’ over the top – you can read my review of that product here.
MUA Makeup Academy Lipstick is priced at £1 (did I mention that before?) and can be purchased from MUAStore and Superdrug stores. I was pleased to read recently that none of MUA’s products are tested on animals, another reason to purchase this lipstick guilt-free.
