MUA Intense Glitter Eye Liner in Blue Babe Review

I love a nice coloured eye liner pencil, particularly a glittery one, and I thought that this Intense Glitter Eye Liner in Blue Babe from MUA might be perfect for Christmas. I’m a recent convert to MUA make-up (MUA stands for Make Up Academy, and it’s Superdrug’s own budget make-up brand). I’ve already reviewed a few products from MUA and found that they usually give great results despite their very reasonable prices.

MUA Intense Glitter Eye Liner in Blue Babe Lid

The first thing that I noticed about this Intense Glitter pencil is that the lid doubles up as a pencil sharpener which I think is a great idea! It doesn’t matter how organised I am I can never find the right sized sharpener for my make-up pencils, and this means that you always have a sharpener with you wherever you take the pencil, so there’s never an excuse for a blunt eye pencil!

Blue Babe is a soft pale blue colour with tiny flecks of silver glitter in. I really love the colour but unfortunately the texture of the pencil is rather hard, making it difficult to apply, and all the rubbing and dragging of the pencil around my eye line left the skin around my eyes feeling quite sore. I much prefer the softer texture of Urban Decay’s 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencils, although they do cost a lot more than this MUA pencil.

As you can see from the image above the colour really is lovely, and only needs a coat of black mascara to set it off, but the hard texture has put me off this pencil and I don’t think I will really be wearing it. This is the first MUA product I have tried that I have been disappointed with.

Intense Glitter Eye Liner pencils are available in 6 shades, and cost a bargainous £1 each! They are available from MUAStore and Superdrug stores.
