Monu – Hydrating Moisturiser SPF15

This Hydrating Moisturiser SPF15 from ethical skincare brand Monu was in my June Glossybox. This is the first product from Monu that I have tried and I have been pleasantly surprised.
Monu is an ethical skincare brand, they are against animal testing and their products contain no synthetic perfumes or colours. This Hydrating Moisturiser SPF15 is suitable for all skin types and contains zinc oxide for sun protection, plus antioxidant vitamin E, and is paraben free.
First things first, as the product is quite thick it is really difficult to get it out of the bottle! No amount of shaking will dispense the moisturiser, and after a big squeeze of the bottle you are left with a huge blob of moisturiser too big for use on just one face. However, this is just a sample size bottle for Glossybox distribution, and I do believe that the full size version of this product has a pump dispenser.
Despite the Monu Hydrating Moisturiser SPF15 being quite thick it does sink into the skin fairly quickly. As I have combination skin with an oily nose and chin I usually steer clear of products that say they are hydrating, but I have been pleasantly surprised by this moisturiser and it doesn’t leave my skin feeling oily at all. The product contains tiny light diffusing particles, which Monu call ‘soft focus technology’, and these give your skin a gentle glow after you first apply it which I really like. Plus, I think it is REALLY important to always wear a SPF sun protection on your face during the day so this product really lives up to my expectations of a good moisturiser.
Overall I think it’s a great product and would definitely buy this again. I would be interested to try some other Monu skincare products too.
Hydrating Moisturiser SPF15 is priced at £29.95 for 50ml and is available from Monu Shop.
