It’s only a couple of weeks ago that I reviewed a selection of eye and brow make-up from MeMeMe, today I bring you their new Lip Glide chubby pencil in English Rose. Available in 5 different shades Lip Glide is a long lasting, ultra-high pigment lip pencil with a matte-velvet finish.
English Rose is a pretty rose mid-pink shade, I really like it as it’s not too bright or sugary. The colour feels soft and smooth on the lips, it’s not as sheer and glossy as I usually like, but it certainly doesn’t make the lips feel dry or wrinkled like some matt lipsticks can do after a couple of hours.
You can see from the swatch image above that the finish is quite matt, and it is very highly pigmented, but being quite a natural shade of pink it doesn’t look too bright when it’s on the lips.
I really like this lip colour, and being in a chubby pencil format it’s much easier to apply than a traditional bullet lipstick, particularly if you haven’t got a lip liner pencil with you, you can just carefully draw around the outside of the lipline with the pencil then fill in the lips.
MeMeMe also suggest you can use the Lip Glide pencils as a base colour, then use a lipstick over the top, for more colour depth and long lasting effects.
Lip Glide pencils are priced at £8.25 each, available in 5 different shades from MeMeMe Cosmetics.
MeMeMe also sent me this Eye Inspire Catwalk Quad Eyeshadow in Opulent Eyes to try. Eye Inspire Catwalk Quad Eyeshadow is a baked eyeshadow split into 4 complementary shades – I recently reviewed the Smouldering Eyes variant (greys and coppers) and really liked it.
The shades in this Opulent Eyes quad are pinky-toned, and they’re nice shimmery colours. Unfortunately being quite pale skinned I just end up looking like I have a black eye if I use red- or pink-toned eyeshadows, so the top 2 shades are definitely out for me, but I really like the bottom left shade – it’s a pretty copper-toned pink and I think I can just about get away with it!
Have a look at the swatch image below to get a better idea of the 4 colours:
You can use these eyeshadows wet or dry – for a bolder look just use a damp brush to apply the shadows. As with the previous colourway that I reviewed I would have liked to see a paler shade included within the quad to use as a base colour all over the eye area and right up to the brow bone, but other than a nice selection of colours (if you have the right skintone to use it!).
I’m definitely growing to like MeMeMe cosmetics more and more, and my favourite mascara is currently their Dark & Divine Mascara. All their products are affordable – not budget exactly, but comparable with the prices of many high street brands.
Eye Inspire Catwalk Quad Eyeshadows are priced at £8.50, available from MeMeMe Cosmetics ,available in 6 colour options.
