Max Factor – False Lash Effect Mascara

Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara is the mascara that I use every day, and I have been doing so for a good few years. I’ve tried other mascaras but nothing seems to quite live up to this one for me, plus it has won several awards including the Style Magazine 2009 Beauty Awards ‘Best Mascara’ award.
False Lash Effect Mascara is available in 2 colours – black and black/brown – I wear the black one and I find the result on my lashes is nice and black with a good coverage. Max Factor say this mascara ‘doubles lash size appearance vs bare lashes’ and it certainly does with mine, although my lashes are quite fair particularly if they haven’t recently been tinted so mascara is a must for me.
The brush is nice and thick with tiny little plastic bristles. It did take me a while to get used to this brush when I first started using False Lash Effect Mascara but now I love it, it’s really easy to ‘wiggle’ into the roots of the lashes and spread the mascara right down the whole of the lashes. The mascara tube is good too, thick and solid, although overall I don’t really think Max Factor packaging looks particularly glamorous.
The image above shows how False Lash Effect Mascara looks on my lashes. I applied 2 thin coats of mascara, and as you can see I have applied it right down to the roots on both the upper and lower lashes. I find this mascara really long lasting too and never experience any smudging or flaking unless I rub my eyes by accident.
I know that mascara is a very personal thing and everyone has their favourite…. and Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara is mine! I also have the waterproof version (review to come soon) although I don’t wear it very often – it is reserved for weddings, funerals and weepy movies. What’s your favourite mascara?
Max Factor False Lash Effect Mascara is priced at £10.99 and is available from Boots.
