MAC – Lipstick in Flamingo

I’m not sure what it is about MAC lipsticks that makes them so appealing… They’re far from the cheapest lipsticks around, and although the simple sleek black tubes look good there are better looking lipsticks out there. Perhaps it is the way they are displayed in the shop with all of the shades clearly on view, tempting you to have a look? Or the fact that there are so many shades and finishes to try? Well whatever it is there is definitely something about a MAC lipstick that just makes you want to buy it, and collect more and more!
My most recent purchase was this Lustre Lipstick in Flamingo. There are currently 28 different shades of Lustre finish Lipstick, I chose Flamingo as I was looking for a coral shade but didn’t want to go too orange. Flamingo is a corally pink shade, very bright – almost neon – with a lovely sheen to it. You can see from the swatch image below that it is glossy and quite sheer, but you can build up the colour using a lipbrush if required to give a more vibrant shade.
This Flamingo Lipstick has the same yummy vanilla flavour as other MAC lipsticks and applies really nicely to the lips straight out of the tube. Unfortunately I don’t have a lipliner that will work with Flamingo yet, so that will have to be my next beauty purchase. I have my eye on MAC Lip Pencil in ‘In Synch’, a lovely yellowy coral pink shade.
I love this MAC Lipstick in Flamingo, it works well on me with pale skin and lots of smudged black eyeliner. It’s probably more of a Spring/Summer shade though and I might need to hide it away during the cold, dark Winter months in favour of something darker.

As with all Mac Lipsticks Flamingo is priced at £15.50 and available to buy from MAC Cosmetics. I will be adding to my MAC Lipstick collection again soon, look out for more reviews.
